20 May 20. SSAFA Emergency Response Fund Update. Our COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund (ERF), launched on 17 April 2020, has received lots of positive feedback and given SSAFA a powerful message to share with supporters, our volunteer network and the wider general public. The current total of funds received or pledged to the ERF now stands at just under £100,000!  To everyone who has contributed, we would like to offer our warmest thanks. So we are doing well, and will be able to continue providing the services the Armed Forces community needs – keeping our helplines manned, our new volunteers trained and providing the financial and emotional support that so many families and individuals need.  Thank you to everyone who has donated!

19 May 20. This Memorial Day, Disabled American Veterans (DAV) in the USA  will be honoring our nation’s fallen heroes and their sacrifices through an online Honor Wall, where the public can submit photos and words of remembrance for their loved ones. This will culminate into a large and poignant mosaic featuring the many faces of our nation’s fallen heroes. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, many of us will not have the privilege of visiting a veterans’ cemetery, participating in a wreath laying ceremony or attending a concert tribute this year.

ExFor+ CIC is a relatively new organisation but has been established with the objective of becoming a National overarching organisation within the Veterans Support Sector. Our aim is to bring about, positive Social and Economic change for the country as well as a significant

transformation of how Service leavers, Veterans, their families and communities are supported. We will do this through effective collaboration, communication and management of a number of services and departments, ranging from engaging with Government, The Third sector and also the supporters of, those who’ve served and often sacrificed so much for their country. We are currently supporting a number of service leavers and veterans with a range of issues ranging from housing, unemployment, benefits, personal development, education, and are constantly looking for employers who see the positives in recruiting and supporting individuals in to work to create longterm and sustainable futures.
