Dear Supporter

I am delighted to invite you on behalf of The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help to our Golf Day at Walton Heath Golf Club on Wednesday 27th September 2006.

The Walton Heath Golf Club is one of the finest golf courses in the UK, if not the world, and this is an opportunity to play a round of golf on the famous Old Course, which has been used as a Championship course many times. The event will have a format of Fourballs with 4 players to each team with 20 teams participating.

It will be a Stapleford Competition, with the best two scores on each hole to count. There will be prizes for the first four places, the longest drive and nearest the pin.

The day will begin at 7.30am with bacon butties, tea, coffee or a glass of bubbly. Play will commence at 8.30am promptly followed by a four course lunch commencing at approximately 1.30pm following an opportunity to “wet one’s whistle”. A raffle will take place during lunch.

The cost per team will be £1,000.

The Walton Heath Golf Club do not set a minimum handicap for Charity events such as this.

We are also looking for companies or individuals to sponsor elements of the event, please see enclosed one page on the opportunities.

This event is in aid of The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen’s and Families Association – Forces Help, the national charity which works tirelessly to help serving and ex-Service men, women and their families in need, including the Reserve Forces and the TA. No other Service-related charity operates on the same scale whether within the Services or in the ex-Service community. More than a century’s dedicated care by our volunteers and staff has earned us the trust of those we aim to help and the respect of the public at large. During this year there is a high level of awareness of SSAFA Forces Help and HM Armed Forces, it is an ideal time to support both past and present heroes of Britain’s military.

To enter a team, sponsor the event and/or send a donation, please complete the attached application form and return it to SSAFA’s Central office as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Please contact Events Manager Claire Bradley on 020 7463 9297 if you require any further information.

We do hope you will enter a team and enjoy what we feel sure will be a great day out.

Yours sincerely
