11 Sep 25. Hanwha Aerospace has signed a contract with BAE Systems to integrate next-generation, anti-jamming Global Positioning System (GPS) technology into Hanwha Aerospace’s ‘Deep Strike Capability’ precision-guided weapon system.

This contract brings the two aerospace and defense technology companies together to collaborate in the critical field of advanced guidance technology. The collaboration will leverage BAE Systems’ world-renowned expertise in military GPS and anti-jamming solutions to counter sophisticated electronic warfare threats.

Billy Boowhan Lee, the Head of PGM Business Group of Hanwha Aerospace, said “The purpose of this cooperation with BAE Systems is to secure advanced electronic warfare protection technology to protect our guided weapon systems,” adding, “Based on a technological advantage to counter electronic warfare threats, we will strengthen our position in the global market.”

“Our collaboration with Hanwha will help give operators added versatility in the field when they need it most,” said Luke Bishop, Director of Navigation and Sensor Systems at BAE Systems. “That versatility combined with our highly reliable military GPS products provide users with a product they can trust will work in the most contested environments.”

Hanwha’s Deep Strike Capability system provides a flexible, multi-caliber and multi-range rocket launch capability, adaptable to diverse missions from suppressing enemy fire support to neutralizing targets in complex environments. Furthermore, its dual-launcher configuration allows the deployment of a wide range of guided rockets from a single platform, delivering superior firepower and operational flexibility.

The new guidance system, developed through this collaboration, is expected to provide Hanwha’s Deep Strike Capability system with superior precision and operational reliability, even in highly contested electronic environments.

This initiative is strategically engineered to meet NATO interoperability requirements, significantly enhancing the marketability of the system to European and other allied nations.

 

12 Sep 25. Intellian and Eutelsat Developing Ultra-Portable Military-Grade LEO Manpack Terminal. Intellian Technologies Inc., a leading global provider of satellite communication antennas and ground gateway solutions, and Eutelsat, the only GEO-LEO operator in satellite communications, have today announced the development of the most ultra-portable, fully integrated military-grade Manpack for Eutelsat’s OneWeb LEO (low Earth orbit) network.

Developed for Defense and Government, this military-grade unit provides the uninterrupted, dependable Eutelsat OneWeb LEO connectivity critical for mission success.

This terminal is a cornerstone of Intellian’s government sector growth strategy, tapping into the global military antenna market. It directly addresses the urgent need for next-generation LEO capabilities within the broader military satellite communications domain, as Defense sectors worldwide invest in secure, diverse, and resilient connectivity.

Designed for rapid deployment, the Manpack is small and light to fit a standard military rucksack. It features one-touch network acquisition for immediate operation even in the most demanding and high-pressure conflict regions and is optimized for low power consumption to maximize mission duration for up to five hours on external batteries depending on usage. With auto detected Resilient Global Navigation Satellite System (R-GNSS), it enables external support of an Alternative Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (Alt-PNT) to ensure operation in GPS-denied environments.

Built to battlefield-ready specifications, the Manpack is designed for Ingress Protection (IP67), as well as the U.S. Military Standards for Environmental Engineering (MIL-STD-810H) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (MIL-STD-461). This ensures exceptional durability for Communications-On-The-Pause (COTP) to personnel on front lines and mission-critical operations.
