16 Jul 15. THORAD, the name given to a patented technology owned by THORAD LLC, stands for Thermal, Optical, and Radar as a base sensor suite. The technology couples commercially available sensors in addition to the thermal optical and radar, together for a more complete view of current events within range of the sensor suite. Outputs from the customized software report the status of operations and their affect on either the security or safety of the facility, its working personnel or the local environment.
Although many software solutions gather similar data and prove it to the operator on the screen, it is all up to the operator to interpret whether there may be an issue or all is normal.
The THORAD product is a convergence or recordable inputs and data points, each analyzed by a customized algorithm to provide a visual alert to the monitoring personnel of impending adverse events or events that are out of the normal tolerances. The patented THORAD solution is additionally programmed to provide an escalation of notification if the monitoring personnel do not take corrective actions.
This escalation message or notification is provided to the appropriate level of command structure on each member’s smart phone, mobile device or computer.
The THORAD technology has application as a force multiplier technology to the Department of Defense and National Security in border security, base security and threat detection, as well as Critical Infrastructure operations and security. General industrial applications manufacturing and shipping facilities, also for the safe and secure operation of power generating plants and substations, Petro-Chemical production facilities. This report studies the Global Hyperspectral Imaging Market for the forecast period of 2014 to 2019. This market is expected to reach a value of $83.19m by 2019, from an estimated value of $47.21m in 2014, at a CAGR of 12.0% during the period under consideration.
Hyperspectral Imaging is a technique of collecting the information and processing it across the electromagnetic spectrum with a goal of obtaining the spectrum for each pixel in the image. HSI collects the information without compromising the integrity of the sample. A wide range of wavelength is covered in the hyperspectral imaging technique. The reflected or emitted light is used to create a spectral based contrast within the obtained image of multiple wavelengths.

The hyperspectral imaging market is growing because of the increasing acceptance of the HSI technologies in mining & mineralogy, machine vision and life science & diagnostics, across the globe. The accuracy of the data obtained and the consistency in the hyperspectral imaging also drive the market growth for HSI. The ease of operation of the instruments and its safety increase the demand for the HSI technologies in the market. However, because of the high cost involved in the investments and installation of the HSI tools, and reimbursement issues the
