————————————————————————
02 Jan 15. Counter UAS. The availability of low cost, small Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) brings new security threats. A lone operator could launch an improvised unmanned aerial device under radio control or autonomous GPS guidance seeking a target, which could be several hundred metres away from the launch site. After deploying the device, the operator could already be distant from the scene with little risk of being apprehended.
Plextek Consulting has demonstrated a solution that combines the benefits of radar and video surveillance to provide Detection, Tracking,
Recognition and Identification in a cost-effective manner.
Features
• Detection, tracking and recognition out to 10km using E-scan Doppler technology
• Accurate and robust object tracking using integrated electro-optical/infra-red sensor processing
• Automated recognition and identification based on frequency and amplitude modulation of the Doppler signal.
• Detection of gliders, microlights and small UAS including fixed-wing and quadcopters (<2kg) Benefits • Early warning detection of hostile threat activity • Allows decision time to select appropriate countermeasures to track, disable or capture the device • Potential to identify the launch location and so apprehend the operator. Proven Performance The performance of our radar technology has been proven during UK trials with respect to the detection, tracking and recognition of UAS. 05 Jan 15. FLIR Systems, Inc. announced three new products at the Consumer Electronics Show, designed to enhance personal awareness at home, work, and play: A second generation FLIR ONE for Android and iOS devices, the C2 Compact Professional Thermal Camera, and new additions to the Raymarine Dragonfly Fishfinder product line. These products embody FLIR's mission to develop products and services that provide a sixth sense for a variety of applications and environments. "We are proud to be launching the next generation of FLIR products that translates our heritage of innovating the world's most advanced imaging and sensing technology into easy-to-use consumer products," said Andy Teich, CEO and President of FLIR. "Whether at home, work, or play, FLIR technology provides valuable imaging, measurement, and detection capabilities." FLIR ONE Thermal Camera for Android and iOS Platforms: Equipped with FLIR's revolutionary Lepton thermal camera core with enhanced resolution, these powerful and lightweight attachments will soon be available for Android or iOS platform devices, including iPhone 6 and iPad devices. The FLIR ONE displays live infrared imagery that allows the user to see the world from a thermal perspective via a highly flexible plug-and-play form factor. It also offers excellent image quality through the inclusion of FLIR's patented MSX(R) technology, providing enhanced thermal images with sharp detail for easy interpretation. Consumers can use the FLIR ONE to detect energy leakage around windows and doors, locate a missing pet at night, and monitor suspicious activity in the dark. The new FLIR ONE is an affordable device that allows users to work faster and play harder. The mobile devices will be available globally mid-year at FLIR.com and major retail outlets. C2 Compact Professional Thermal Camera: The world's first fully-integrated pocket-sized thermal camera includes must-have features for building, energy efficiency, and maintenance professionals. The super-slim, easy to use C2 finds hidden heat patterns that signal energy waste, structural defects, plumbing issues, and more. The Lepton-powered C2 includes FLIR's exclusive MSX real-time image enhancement software, high thermal sensitivity, a wide field of view, and fully radiometric imagery for accurate temperature readings to clearly show where problems are and verify the completion of repairs.
