The Defence Committee will hear evidence from campaigners and experts on the impact of the data breach and super-injunction on Afghans on Tuesday, 9th December. Witnesses will include the first journalist to have become aware of the breach.
The cross-party Committee will examine how well the Government handled communications around the super-injunction with affected Afghans, and the resulting repercussions.
MPs are also likely to consider the Rimmer review and the administration of the resettlement schemes more widely, including the experiences of Afghans who have come to the UK, and their challenges in finding suitable accommodation.
This session follows a private evidence session held with ‘Person A’, the person who first alerted the Ministry of Defence to the data breach. The transcript of that session is available on the publication page of the Committee’s website.
