Q. Warrior Armoured Vehicle Asked by Lord Campbell of Pittenweem: To ask Her Majesty’s Government what progress they have made on the programme for the modernisation of the Warrior infantry combat vehicle; what factors have contributed to its delay; and when it will be completed.
A. Earl Howe: The Warrior Capability Sustainment Programme is currently in its demonstration phase. Eleven demonstration vehicles are currently being manufactured and will then undergo a rigorous trials programme, culminating in live ‘firing on the move’. The complex nature of the programme has led to significant engineering and technical challenges. The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is engaged in discussions with Lockheed Martin and any decisions will be subject to the MOD approvals process.
