10 Sep 02. DRS Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: DRS) has received an order to provide next-generation secure voice and data communications subsystems for U.S. government information security (INFOSEC) program applications. The $3m award was received by DRS from L-3 Communication Systems – East, located in Camden, New Jersey, a unit of L-3 Communications Corporation (NYSE: LLL). For these awards, the company will provide adapter modules for Secure Terminal Equipment (STE) that will allow these systems to communicate over public service telephone and military tactical networks.
11 Sep 02. Insolvent German engineering group Babcock Borsig AG (XETRA:BBXG.DE – News) said on Wednesday it had sold its remaining stake in the HDW shipyard — 25 percent plus one share — to One Equity Partners (OEP), part of Bank One (NYSE:ONE – News). Kiel-based Howaldtswerke Deutsche Werft.
9 Sept 02. A team led by Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has been awarded a contract to provide Information Operations (IO) technical and management support for the U.S. Army’s Land Information Warfare Activity (LIWA). The contract is worth more than $300m over five years and will bring approximately 220 jobs to Northrop Grumman’s Information Technology (IT) sector.
