16 Feb 25.  Galvion announces the receipt of Middle Eastern orders for 35,000 helmets, at IDEX 2025.  Galvion, a world leader in the design and manufacture of innovative head systems, power and data management solutions, and integrated soldier systems, is excited to announce the receipt of several recent orders from the Middle Eastern region for a total of 35,000 Baltskin® helmet systems. This announcement coincides with the IDEX exhibition taking place in Abu Dhabi, UAE, 17-21 February 2025. At the event, Galvion will be exhibiting at booth 14-C31. The 35,000 head systems ordered are split between two of Galvion’s Batlskin® helmet platforms: the Baltskin VIPER® and Baltskin PDxT™ variants. Galvion’s PDxT geometry was recently introduced to their commercial helmet portfolio under the name Batlskin Hellbender™.  Galvion is unable to disclose specific details related to all orders received, however a trusted regional partner of Galvion’s is amongst the most recent customers that has placed orders for over 100,000 helmets in the last 10 years for use by Armed Forces and security services in the region. Galvion’s Batlskin VIPER® A1 Special Edition is a high-cut ACH shaped aramid helmet.  The Special Edition system was specifically developed for a regional customer in coyote brown, with a custom camo helmet cover and a bespoke helmet bag.  Elsewhere in the region, further orders were received for Galvion’s Batlskin PDxT™ helmet.  The PDxT platform is battle-proven, with multiple variants in service across international helmet programs.  The unique geometry features an ACH-front with smooth ear transition and a ridged back, offering structural rigidity, increased rear ballistic protection and improved impact protection.  Both helmet systems on order feature Galvion’s customizable, comfort-fit Modular Suspension System (MSS).  The MSS retention system is designed to maximize comfort, stability, air circulation, and protection during long periods of wear.

12 Feb 25.  RT to Unveil Groundbreaking New Cellular Communications System for Tactical Aerostat Platforms at IDEX 2025.  RT LTA Systems Ltd., a leading developer and manufacturer of aerostat systems for surveillance and reconnaissance, will present its latest technological developments at the upcoming International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As a global leader, RT has developed the Skystar™ family of tactical aerostat systems built on a combat-proven, lighter-than-air platform. These systems are compact, mobile, user-friendly and cost-effective, capable of carrying diverse payloads up to an altitude of 500 meters. The Skyguard family, featuring large, blimp-shaped aerostats, can reach altitudes of up to 20,000 feet. The company is also developing new features and integrations, such as cellular connectivity, to elevate aerostat capabilities to the next level. RT’s aerostat systems have been providing significant advantages for border protection, strategic facility security and across theaters of operation for many years, delivering real-time intelligence, early warning capabilities and enhanced situational awareness. The systems have incorporated a wide variety of payloads – from radars to COMINT / ELINT modules and E/O and I/R cameras, communication and other surveillance modules. RT announced the completion of the development and integration of a cellular communication system based on the SkyStar™ 330 platform. The new system was installed on a tactical and mobile aerostat system, and operated in recent months by one of its local clients. The system’s advantages include rapid deployment capability, allowing it to be fully set up with communication and data channels established for users within about an hour from arrival on the site. The aerostat, operating at a height of approximately 500 meters AGL (Above Ground Level), creates a line of sight for dozens of kilometers in the area. In order to keep the aerostat as small as possible, the communication system is split into two parts, with only the essential equipment elevated into the air. The ground equipment is connected to the aerial payload via optical fibers within the tethered cable. The cable also provides a power supply to the system, ensuring high availability and continuous operation. The system is operated by a team of three, and in the next phase, which is already in advanced development stages, it will be operated remotely and autonomously.

The system is suitable for numerous scenarios, such as for the coverage of extensive areas without infrastructure, post-disaster events where infrastructure is damaged, an urgent need to open communication channels for search and rescue teams, and temporary installations for special events to augment existing communication systems. From the experience we have gained in this process, I can say that we know how to integrate any operator from any country in the world. The system is suitable for both civilian and military uses.”

14 Feb 25. Hanwha to Showcase Next-Generation Artillery and Air-Defense Solutions at IDEX 2025.
➢ Hanwha will present a range of cutting-edge defense capabilities at IDEX 2025, under the theme of ‘Driving Innovation with Partners’
➢ The K9 Self-Propelled Howitzer fitted with Korean-build engine is to be unveiled for the first time after successful trial runs
➢ Hanwha’s state-of-the-art long-range surface-to-air ballistic missile defense system, L-SAM, is to highlight integrated air defense solutions against evolving threats
➢ As part of the global expansion schemes, Hanwha has named Michael Coulter as Global Defense President & CEO, taking the helm of Hanwha’s international defense business initiatives across all domains of land, sea, and aerospace.

Hanwha’s aerospace and defense affiliates will participate in the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) 2025 at the ADNEC Exhibition Center, Abu Dhabi, UAE, from February 17-21, strengthening its presence in the Middle East and African markets.
The largest aerospace and defense contractor in South Korea, Hanwha will present a variety of cutting-edge capabilities, including artillery systems, armored vehicles, a long-range ballistic interceptor system, and reconnaissance satellites.
At the upcoming show, Hanwha Aerospace will unveil the K9A1 Self-Propelled Howitzer fitted with a domestically-built 1,000-horsepower engine for the first time. The homegrown engine has been tested intensively in South Korea, Egypt and other nations for a year to prove its reliability in different environments and territory.
The Long-Range Surface-to-Air (L-SAM) missile system will also take the center stage of the Hanwha stand as an optimal solution for Middle Eastern countries seeking to enhance their air-defense network. L-SAM is an upper tier air defense network interoperable with lower tier defense systems such as M-SAM and PAC-3, to provide enhanced defensive capabilities through integration with command and control (C2) system.
Hanwha Aerospace develops the L-SAM interceptor missile capable of thwarting incoming ballistic missiles at high altitudes, using sophisticated technologies including the dual-pulse propulsion system, and the divert & altitude control system. Mass production of the L-SAM is to begin this year for delivery to the ROK Air Force. An improved variant, the L-SAM II is also under development to be completed by 2028.
Hanwha Systems is responsible for the L-SAM multi-function radar (MFR), capable of detecting and tracking terminal-phase, high-altitude ballistic missiles and aircraft at long ranges. In the space domain, Hanwha Systems is set to present its latest small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite, which can deliver 0.25m resolution images for various purposes including Earth observation, environmental monitoring, disaster prediction, and logistic analysis.

Other capabilities to be displayed at IDEX include :
Chunmoo MRLS
• Developed to counter North Korea’s long-range artillery threat, the K-239 Chunmoo MRLS is capable of real-time precision strikes on key targets from outside the enemy’s artillery range.
• Guided missiles equipped with GPS/INS combined navigation devices enable a precision strike capability of 15m CEP. It can be mounted with two firing pods in the launchpad, providing stronger firepower than other products in the market.
Redback IFV
• The Redback is one of the world’s most modernized infantry fighting vehicle equipped with innovative technologies such as active protection system, composite rubber tracks, enhanced layered armor protection, remoted controlled weapons station, and advanced S/W architecture.
• In 2023, The Redback was selected for the Australian LAND 400 Phase 3 program to provide 129 vehicles in different variants.
TIGON IFV
• The TIGON IFV is an 8×8 multi-purpose wheeled armored vehicle equipped with diverse armament systems, such as RCWS. 20-30mm autocannons, and 900mm low-recoil guns. With its 525hp engine and waterjet, the vehicle can move at a maximum speed of 100km/h on the paved road and cross the river at a speed of 8km/h.
• The TIGON Tank Destroyer (TD) is a new variant with improved mobility, firepower, and survivability. The Tigon TD loads TAipers ATGM launcher on top, enabling combat initiation outside the enemy line of sight. The TD version is powered by a 700hp engine offers enduring maneuverability under harsh conditions such as deserts. It is armed with enhanced armor protection systems.
TAipers
• The TAiper (Tank Sniper) is a fifth-generation anti-tank guided missile, featuring different types of firing modes such as fire & forget, and None-line-of-sight. The missile is capable of changing the target even after firing.
• Designed to be installed on attack helicopters for air-to-surface strike capability, the TAipers can also be mounted on various types of land platforms such as IFV, APC and UGV.
H-SHORAD
• The Hybrid Short-Range Air Defense (H-SHORAD) is a next-generation wheeled vehicle armed with a 30mm/40mm gun unmanned turret; a surface-to-air missile system; and 3D AESA radar.
• With enhanced tracking capability and firepower, the H-SHORAD is an optimal solution to thwart small UAVs and different types of aerial threats in various terrain and weather conditions.
Multi-Function Radar (MFR)
• The M-SAM Multi-Function Radar (MFR) is capable of simultaneously detecting all aircraft and missiles attacking from any direction. The M-SAM II MFR is capable of performing detection and tracking, friend or foe (IFF) identification, jamming response, and guided missile detection, tracking, and communication—all with a single AESA radar.
• The L-SAM MFR has the capability to track and counter high-altitude ballistic missiles, long-range aircraft, and cruise missiles, offering enhanced protection for airspace defense.
Anti-Drone System
• The mobile Anti-Drone System is a comprehensive, multi-layered defense solution designed to detect and identify low-flying, small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Equipped with a wide range of defense capabilities, the system offers multi-layered responses at varying distances, including jammer technology, drone capture mechanisms, and laser systems, to effectively neutralize UAVs at altitudes ranging from 1 to 3 kilometers.
• This Anti-Drone System can be deployed to protect critical national infrastructure—including government buildings, airports, and oil refineries—against the growing threat of swarm drones and small UAVs.

AM General, leading manufacturer of tactical military vehicles and mobility systems, will display the new JLTV A2 at the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) February 17-21, 2025, Booth #02B-08, Hall 2, U.S. Pavilion, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre ADNEC in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In under two years, the company built a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility from the ground up where production has officially started on this next generation tactical vehicle.
“IDEX is a leading military exhibition which enables us to connect with our global customers and discuss how we can meet their evolving needs to support the Warfighter,” said John Chadbourne, AM General EVP – Chief Business Development Officer. “This year we are proud to display the first AM General-built JLTV A2 asset so our customers can see, first-hand, the myriad improvements we’ve made to the platform.”
The JLTV A2 on display is a testament to the company’s commitment to continuous innovation and partnership. In close collaboration with the US Army, AM General will implement over 250 engineering changes to vastly improve the vehicle for the end user. Key among the changes are the reduction of interior and exterior noise levels, improved corrosion protection, and improved fuel economy. The vehicle’s versatility and lethality are also featured by integrating a Hornet Air Guard Remote Controlled Weapon System (RCWS) with Counter-UAS concept by Hornet. The Hornet Air Guard concept offers anti-drone detection & neutralization capabilities to the Hornet RCWS which provides surveillance, fire, and self-protection thanks the use of air-burst ammunition and the addition of an independent drone detection ring.
Production of the JLTV A2 is already under way with initial deliveries beginning in the second quarter of 2025. AM General associates will be on hand to discuss international procurement of the vehicle via the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) process as well as ongoing support of existing A0 and A1 fleets.

In parallel, the STAMP family of miniature UAV payloads showcases the new STAMP XED, which meets the demand for extended-range optics and advanced target tracking in Group 2 UAVs. 17 Feb 25. Pearson Engineering and Milrem Robotics have signed an agreement at IDEX 2025 to combine their expertise to develop mission-specific uncrewed ground vehicles for the MENA region. Kuldar Väärsi, Founder and CEO of Milrem Robotics, a world leader in robotics and autonomous systems development, and Ian Bell, Group CEO of Pearson Engineering, a widely recognised leader in combat engineering capability, have today signed a memorandum of understanding. The agreement formalises collaboration between both companies, which has previously seen earth-moving and IED-defeat equipment from Pearson Engineering integrated with Milrem Robotics’ Robotic Combat Vehicle. The agreement will underpin further co-operation to offer new technologies to Middle Eastern end-users. Key to the agreement will be exploring the integration of Pearson Engineering’s minefield breaching capability, specifically the RCV-Pioneer modular mission payload, with Milrem’s tracked Robotic Combat Vehicles. Pearson Engineering and Milrem Robotics will also work together to improve operational effectiveness and explore scenarios that robotic systems encounter in the hands of military personnel, ensuring that cutting-edge technologies offer a further operational and tactical advantage.

By sharing common subsystems with other Milrem Robotics platforms, such as the tracked RCV, HAVOC significantly reduces development, procurement, and maintenance costs, ensuring cost efficiency and streamlined logistics.

Weighing substantially less than conventional manned 8×8 vehicles, the RCV boasts superior off-road performance, making it highly effective in rugged terrains. Its cutting-edge electric driveline delivers instantaneous torque, enabling faster response times and enhanced mobility. Additionally, the vehicle’s pivot steering capabilities allow for a dramatically reduced turning radius, ensuring optimal manoeuvrability in environments ranging from open deserts and urban combat zones to high-altitude mountain passes.

The 8×8 RCV is designed with a baseline payload capacity of five tons, offering exceptional flexibility for integrating mission-specific payloads or weapon systems. Importantly, modifications within this payload limit do not compromise the vehicle’s performance, ensuring seamless adaptability to operational needs. Furthermore, it operates on a unified autonomy ecosystem that aligns with Milrem’s existing platforms, guaranteeing compatibility and scalability across a diverse range of autonomous solutions.

13 Feb 25. Allen-Vanguard launches its next-generation RF Multi-Function Cyber Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) Platform at IDEX 2025. Allen-Vanguard, a global leader in providing customised solutions and enabling technology for Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum monitoring and RF defeat of Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) and Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) threats employed by terrorists and extremists, is launching its next-generation core technology at IDEX 2025.  As modern battlefield threats evolve, Allen-Vanguard is responding by launching the cornerstone of their latest RF multi-function CEMA platform that provides the necessary flexibility and adaptability for front-line troops to quickly and easily dominate the CEMA space; a capability that is particularly important when providing security in the Middle East. Allen-Vanguard is very excited to announce at IDEX 2025, the advanced core that will underpin its next-generation family of multi-function CEMA platforms.  This new capability leverages the very latest in analogue signal processing technology and is the culmination of significant strategic investment and massive engineering development that the company has placed in its future program of systems, the ‘NXT’ family.  This technology delivers a highly integrated mixed-signal front-end technology, combined with enhanced RF processing power to deliver increased flexibility and improved detect and defeat capability for the end user.  This new technology enables direct RF sampling, without the use of tuners, across the entire RF spectrum used by UAS and RCIED devices.  Allen-Vanguard has engaged best-in-class experts to collaborate on this exciting new project which enables this new more powerful software-defined radio (SDR) platform to form the core of their new products and help dominate the EW space.  The new platform comprises of an RF System on Module (SOM) and a customisable product-specific application interface card which means users can detect, protect and defeat a wider range of threats from each system.  Allen-Vanguard will be showcasing this and its current range of products at IDEX 25 on stand C3-006 from 17-21 February at the ADNEC Centre, Abu Dhabi.
