Bittium FUSOR™ (Flexible Unifying Software Router) strengthens communications for the defense forces of different countries by enabling seamless, flexible, and cost-efficient expansion of Bittium networks. The software router supports the formation of hybrid networks by connecting tactical networks with, for example, fixed networks and 5G, as well as expanding tactical networks into larger network entities. 16 Mar 26. The Subsurface Battlespace Just Got Clearer: SitaWare Maritime Launches PMI Planning Capability. Systematic has introduced a major new capability in SitaWare Maritime, enabling navies to safely coordinate submarine operations across coalition forces.

In modern naval operations, friendly submarines often operate in the same contested waters as allied ships, aircraft and other submarines. PMI planning tools help commanders coordinate these movements safely by analyzing potential conflicts in four dimensions and ensuring clear separation between assets before operations begin.

“The addition of PMI planning capabilities takes SitaWare to new depths,” said Commander Nicholas Kristof, US Navy (Retired), a former submariner who now serves as Director of Defense Sales at Systematic. “This addition will enable the world’s Submarine Operating Authorities to employ SitaWare in their planning processes. Coalition Submarine Operations: From Opacity to Clarity

SitaWare Maritime’s latest software release offers submarine planners the ability to ensure safe separation between submarines and other maritime and air assets by analyzing operations across four dimensions: time, latitude, longitude and depth. The capability uses dynamic moving havens that chart a submarine’s planned route, providing a shared understanding of where submarines are expected to operate at specific times.

Mine Countermeasures: Unlocking Freedom of Manoeuvre

Building on this foundation of enhanced coalition coordination, Systematic also confirmed that an advanced Mine Countermeasures (MCM) Planning capability will be released later this year. Where PMI ensures submarines can operate safely together, MCM Planning enables coalition forces to clear the path ahead, further strengthening SitaWare Maritime’s position as the comprehensive naval command and control solution for multinational operations.

The capability allows mine warfare officers to select available units and define operational areas, after which the system suggests an optimised plan for distributing assets to clear or survey mined waters.

“This is not just about visualisation, it’s about collaboration and efficiency,” said Krabbesmark. “By proposing a coordinated plan, the system helps coalition forces achieve mine clearance objectives faster and with greater consistency.”

The MCM Planning capability supports operations in littoral and contested environments and is designed to scale across national and multinational task groups.

11 Mar 26. On Land and in the Air: Daimler Truck Enters Partnership with German Drone Manufacturer Quantum Systems. Daimler Truck has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the German company Quantum Systems. The goal is close cooperation in the field of unmanned aerial and ground systems for defence operations. Through Quantum Systems’ software MOSAIC, information from air and ground systems will be integrated. By integrating its vehicles into MOSAIC, Daimler Truck aims to improve the operational picture and thereby enhance the protection of personnel involved. A Mercedes‑Benz Arocs integrated into MOSAIC is currently being presented at the military specialist conference Log.Net 2026 in Koblenz.

Daniel Zittel, Head of Defence Sales at Daimler Truck AG: “By integrating our vehicles into MOSAIC, we will be able to seamlessly network them with other ground-based systems and unmanned aerial systems. At the same time, we are developing our trucks into partially autonomous and unmanned vehicle platforms.”

23 Mar 26.  Lockheed Martin, a global defence technology leader, has announced a new UK-based technology initiative led by its Skunk Works® division aimed at developing new and advanced defence capabilities and technologies. The announcement comes as the company joins the UK’s Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) as a Tier 1 partner.

Named the Technology Roadmaps initiative, it leverages expertise from Skunk Works® to support the sovereign development and delivery of cutting-edge defence technologies to UK customers.

The company said the initiative introduces a grassroots model, focused on collaboration with small and medium UK enterprises (SMEs) while building on existing relationships with UK government organisations, academic institutions and industry partners in areas identified in the UK’s Strategic Defence Review.

Identified technology priorities include artificial intelligence, autonomy, cyber, material technologies and space manufacturing, and initial projects will focus on creating immediate capability from existing technologies. The initiative will share best practices, contribute to ecosystem learning and deliver purposeful innovation for the UK’s defence needs.

The announcement follows the successful delivery last year of Skunk Works® first international project, the TIQUILA uncrewed aerial system programme for the British Army. Other recent successful Skunk Works® UK activities include  “Project DEIMOS” live-fly demonstrations that showcased interoperability between the Royal Air Force’s F-35 fleet and NATO allies, and the collaboration with BAE Systems’ FalconWorks to develop a range of uncrewed autonomous air systems for global allies, announced at DSEI last September.

Tier 1 membership of the MTC will also see Lockheed Martin collaborate with that UK organisation on core research, capabilities and investments, and play a leading role in managing projects that address key challenges faced by defence industry supply chains.

The membership is also intended to accelerate SME technology readiness levels, helping emerging concepts progress more rapidly toward deployable solutions. The effort aligns with Lockheed Martin’s SMEUnite initiative which has grown to include over 180 British companies.

Oxley specialises in the design and manufacture of advanced electronic and electro-optic components and systems for air, land and sea applications within the military sector. Established in 1942, Oxley has manufacturing facilities in the UK and USA and enjoys representation worldwide.  The company’s products include night vision and LED lighting, data capture systems and electronic components. Oxley has pioneered the development of night vision compatible lighting.  It offers a total package incorporating optical filters, equipment modification, cockpit and external lighting along with fleet wide upgrade services including engineering, installation, support, maintenance and training. The company’s long experience of manufacturing night vision lighting and LED indicators, coupled with advances in LED technology, has enabled it to develop LED solutions to replace incandescent and fluorescent lighting in existing applications as well as becoming the lighting option of choice in new applications such as portable military hospitals, UAV control stations and communication shelters.
