Advantech IPC-221 Compact IPC Brings Desktop-CPU Performance to Space-Constrained Industrial Application. Advantech (TWSE: 2395), a global leader in industrial IoT, has expanded its compact IPC lineup with the introduction of its new IPC-221 compact industrial computer chassis. 15 Dec 25. Sanlayan Group company Versabyte Data Systems transferred its indigenously developed high-voltage power supply for active self-protection jammers to the Armed Forces. The handover took place at DRDO Bhawan in New Delhi last week and was formally showcased among seven other technologies, all developed under the Technology Development Fund of the Defence Research and Development Organisation.

A Major Milestone in India’s Indigenous Electronic Warfare Capability

The high-voltage airborne power supply from Versabyte Data Systems Private Limited (Versabyte), now officially transferred to the Armed Forces, is a mission-critical subsystem used in active self-protection jammers (pulse and continuous wave), enhancing aircraft survivability and mission success. The system was co-developed through close collaboration between DRDO scientists and Versabyte’s engineering teams, reflecting the company’s nearly four decades of expertise in rugged, high-reliability power electronics. This technology is among the seven innovations handed over under DRDO’s Technology Development Fund (TDF), each designed, engineered, and validated entirely by Indian industry. The milestone underscores the Government’s commitment to Aatmanirbhar Bharat and India’s ability to produce complex strategic subsystems domestically.

How Public–Private Partnership Is Accelerating Defence Innovation

Public–private collaboration is becoming a defining driver of India’s defence modernisation. Through TDF, DRDO has created a structured pipeline for industry, start-ups, and MSMEs to take on advanced R&D, work alongside DRDO labs, and mature prototypes into deployable systems. This model is enabling a diverse set of companies, from agile deep-tech firms like Sanlayan to established defence OEMs like Versabyte, to develop indigenous sensors, power systems, electronics, propulsion units, and materials that previously required foreign sourcing.

Driving Technological Sovereignty Through Faster Innovation Cycles

India’s expanding TDF portfolio reflects a clear national strategy: accelerate indigenous capability in critical technologies, reduce external dependencies, and shorten the timeline from lab innovation to field deployment. 09 Dec 25. Lockheed Martin Taps Hadrian for Software-Defined Manufacturing Alliance. To accelerate the delivery of critical munitions and resolve supply chain bottlenecks, Lockheed Martin has entered a strategic alliance with manufacturing technology company Hadrian. Under a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) announced December 8, Hadrian will deploy its “Factory-as-a-Service” model directly into a Lockheed Martin production facility to automate the manufacturing of high-demand missile components.

Integration and Scope

The partnership focuses on the rapid production of parts for Lockheed Martin’s Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) division. Hadrian will establish a scalable machining and inspection cell at a Lockheed Martin site, utilizing its proprietary software stack, computer numerical control (CNC) machines, and advanced robotics. The automated cell is specifically targeted to support several high-priority Department of Defense programs, including:

  • PAC-3 MSE: Patriot Advanced Capability-3 Missile Segment Enhancement.
  • THAAD: Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system.
  • PrSM: Precision Strike Missile.
  • GMLRS: Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System.

This integration aims to bypass traditional manufacturing latency by enabling a “software-defined” production line capable of faster setup times and higher throughput than legacy systems.

Strategic Context

The alliance comes as the U.S. defense industrial base faces pressure to surge production rates for kinetic munitions due to ongoing global conflicts and depleted stockpiles. Hadrian, a startup that raised $260 m in Series C funding in July 2025, differentiates itself by automating the entire manufacturing workflow—from quoting to final inspection—allowing for rapid scaling that traditional machine shops struggle to match.

Tom Carrubba, vice president of production operations at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, described the collaboration as a necessary step to meet escalating demand. “We are excited to collaborate with Hadrian to deploy their automated machining and inspection technology to strengthen our manufacturing capabilities and supply chain,” Carrubba said. “This project is a key enabler for Lockheed Martin to increase production output capacity, ensuring we can meet the high demand for our customers’ munitions needs.”

Future Implications

For Hadrian, the deal validates its model of embedding capacity directly within a prime contractor’s infrastructure rather than operating solely as an external vendor. “This partnership is a model for how emerging and established players can work together to build faster, more resilient defense production,” said Hadrian CEO Chris Power. “By combining Hadrian’s advanced manufacturing capabilities with Lockheed Martin’s expertise, we’re streamlining production for current and future critical programs.” The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement or the specific timeline for the cell to reach full operational capability. 12 Dec 25. Systematic announced its partnership with Space42, the UAE-based AI-powered SpaceTech company with global reach, and US firm Comtech for the development and delivery of a satellite-based communication and tracking system. The location tracking system (LTS) will leverage Systematic’s SitaWare Frontline to send and receive location information and messages via Systematic’s communications backbone, SitaWare Tactical Communication. This data will then be transferred to operations centres using SitaWare Headquarters via Space42’s constellation of satellites utilising Comtech’s communications hardware. This new capability will give commanders an exceptional overview of the disposition of friendly forces. The LTS will equip mounted and dismounted troops as well as a variety of vehicles – including naval and airborne assets. This will give force commanders a reliable picture of the location of their forces, as well as providing an additional tracking system as part of a PACE (primary, alternate, contingency, emergency) communications plan.
