11 Sep 25. Spectrum Instrumentation presents new flagship digitizers with 12-bit resolution and a maximum of 6 channels at 10 GS/s or 12 channels at 5 GS/s acquisition speed. The new DN6.33x digitizers belong to the company’s Netbox series, an easy-to-use instrument line that requires only an Ethernet cable to be controlled from any PC, laptop, or network. A comprehensive software package and a number of hardware features make them ideal for automated testing applications, capturing signals on multiple, perfectly synchronized inputs. With 15 new variants, Spectrum now offers a total of 94 different digitizer Netboxes, ranging from 5 MS/s to an ultrafast 10 GS/s sampling speed.

Spectrum Instrumentation presents new flagship digitizers with 12-bit resolution and a maximum of 6 channels at 10 GS/s or 12 channels at 5 GS/s acquisition speed. The new DN6.33x digitizers belong to the company’s Netbox series, an easy-to-use instrument line that requires only an Ethernet cable to be controlled from any PC, laptop, or network. Each channel of the new DN6.33x digitizers features a 12-bit ADC with sampling rates of 3.2, 6.4, or 10

GS/s, and related analog bandwidths of 1, 2, or 3 GHz. Models are available with 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 channels,

giving users flexibility without overspending on unneeded performance. If only 1 or 2 channels are required,

the smaller DN2.33x series is available.

Key hardware features:

  • Perfect synchronous sampling across all channels
  • Four independent programmable input ranges (±200 mV to ±2.5 V) per channel with programmable offset,

on-board calibration, and precise timing alignment

  • The standard memory allows 200 ms capture duration at full speed, expandable to 800 ms
  • Front panel connectors for external clocks, triggers, and digital I/O are standard

Flexible acquisition modes – like transient, multiple, and optional block averaging – combine with advanced

trigger capabilities to allow the precise capture of rare or complex events. Each trigger has its own

timestamp, making it possible to time between acquisitions that may be separated by hours, or just fractions

of a microsecond.

All units ship together with the powerful SBench 6 Professional software for acquisition, display, analysis and

documentation. SBench 6 handles large data files with ease, offers a wide choice of time and frequency

display modes and provides an easy way to control Netbox instruments. When embedding a unit into

automated testing systems, developers can create their own programs using the free SDKs, compatible with

C++, Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and more. Optional accessories include a high-speed pulse generator

with four programmable outputs, and 19″ rack mounting kits.

Babcock International Group (Babcock), the defence company, has developed a digital asset management and intelligence platform Metis, which is boosting army mission readiness by helping personnel make smarter, data-driven decisions. Metis delivers a strategic advantage by bringing together siloed systems to create a connected view of assets and how they’re managed.  By utilising a range of technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Metis provides a connected view of asset reliability, availability and readiness across their lifecycle, enhancing maintainability and sustainment in the process. This real-time operational intelligence streamlines defence enterprises by reducing process duplication and enabling trusted information flows, ensuring everyone works from the same data improving the accuracy and availability of resource and asset information.

Named after the Greek Goddess of wisdom, Babcock initially developed Metis to boost mission readiness for the British Army as part of its Service Provision and Transformation Contract (SPTC), where it provides equipment support and fleet management for more than 30,000 vehicles, from main battle tanks to quad bikes.

Metis can also be configured for any organisation which has complex assets.

12 Sep 25. Babcock International Group (Babcock), the defence company and Skyral announce Strategic Partnership to Transform Equipment Support and Sustainment for the British Army.

  • Strategic partnership leverages Skyral’s advanced modelling and simulation technology to enhance British Army’s Equipment Support.
  • Skyral joins Babcock’s METIS collaborative partner network – a digital capability that transforms fragmented data into actionable knowledge for intelligent asset management.
  • Partnership enables planning transformation through realistic testing and adaptation of sustainment and regeneration strategies across peace, crisis, and warfighting scenarios.

Babcock and UK-based advanced simulation company Skyral have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking the launch of a strategic partnership to deliver next-generation modelling and simulation (M&S) capabilities to the British Army’s Equipment Support.

The collaboration combines Babcock’s deep expertise in defence support and engineering with Skyral’s cutting-edge digital twin and agent-based simulation technologies. Together, they will enable intelligent asset management and advanced planning tools to test and adapt sustainment strategies across the full spectrum of military operations.

At the core of the partnership is the development of a Supply Chain Planning Tool, designed to allow users to run detailed “what-if” scenarios and stress-test plans under realistic conditions. By simulating readiness, sustainment, and regeneration — including the impact of disruptor events such as supply loss, route denial, or combat attrition — the tool, integrated with Babcock’s METIS capability, will help identify bottlenecks, optimise force availability, and ensure plans remain agile in the face of evolving threats.

10 Sep 25. Europe’s tech leaders join forces for sovereign control of drone swarms.

  • Europe’s leading defence technology companies are partnering to provide Europe with sovereign AI-powered swarm capabilities, tightly integrated with existing C2 systems and processes, to revolutionise the recce-strike complex.
  • Military experts consider swarming drones – where drones communicate and synchronise between themselves on a mission – as the next step in battlefield autonomy. Working together, Helsing and Systematic will be able to deliver European leadership in this new capability.
  • The companies are already working jointly with European militaries in pursuit of delivering these new capabilities.

Helsing and Systematic are today announcing a partnership to provide Europe with sovereign AI-powered swarm capabilities integrated with existing C2 systems and processes to revolutionise the recce-strike complex. The agreement has been signed at Europe’s largest defence exhibition, DSEI in London, and is the latest innovative partnership between European defence tech companies developing sovereign capabilities in Europe, for Europe.

By combining their expertise, the two companies are strengthening the continent’s digital defence industrial base, providing the capability and capacity required for quicker decisions, state-of-the-art targeting, and precision mass strike capabilities. This will allow military leaders to build up their capacity in this area and adopt lessons from Ukraine.

The partnership will integrate Helsing’s AI-powered defence tech platforms with the Systematic SitaWare suite of C4ISR currently used by more than 50 nations. This will allow customers to be instantly ‘drone ready’ and open the pathway to further scale the deployment of autonomous sensors and effectors as drone swarms.

The technology will enable the faster exchange of data between drones, such as ISR platforms and the Helsing HX-2 strike drone, which is deployed in Ukraine. SitaWare users can then deliver mission critical tasks at unprecedented speed and scale, such as developing target lists, creating plans and orders, tasking strike assets, deconflicting airspace to ensure safe operations, and delivering fused friendly and enemy force pictures.

Data gathered from the uncrewed systems will support tasks ranging from target nomination through to battle damage assessment. When operated in conjunction with the strike capabilities in the HX-2 system, commanders will have a comprehensive and seamless end-to-end F3EAD capability (find, fix, finish, exploit, analyse, disseminate).
