Defence and security company Saab will be redefining how the world experiences training and education delivery through the creation of highly innovative applications for the Microsoft HoloLens platform. Saab is pleased to have been selected by Microsoft to participate in the HoloLens Enterprise Acceleration Program, which is now enabling Saab to build a range of ground breaking training, education and other complex 3D Holographic applications. With the official launch of Microsoft HoloLens, Saab’s transformation of the training and education experience begins today.
Saab is constantly developing and supporting complex software systems to be able to offer modern solutions for todays and future needs. Microsoft provides the revolutionary Mixed Reality HoloLens platform to enable rich holographic content to be viewed in the physical world around you. The Saab training platform on Microsoft HoloLens creates a 3D holographic training environment that enables faster learning, better retention, and more detailed assessment that simply was not possible before now.
“Our Training and Simulation team see the huge potential for Microsoft Hololens and are already working on a range of civil and military applications in training, simulation and education,” said Dean Rosenfield, Managing Director of Saab Australia. “Mixed Reality technology is truly ground breaking and will revolutionise the way we train, educate and operate across the whole of society.”
Saab has a strong background in advanced software and training systems. With the assistance of Microsoft, enabling full utilisation of the HoloLens Platform, Saab Australia has begun establishing a HoloLens Applications Studio and Centre of Excellence in Adelaide, South Australia. The studio team of software engineers and experienced trainers will be working with government and industry to develop advanced 3D mixed reality training systems.
“Microsoft and Saab have a great working relationship and we are actively working together with Saab Australia to establish this new technology frontier in Adelaide, South Australia”, said Microsoft’s Rocky Heckman, Business Development Manager, HoloLens, Asia Pacific and Japan.
