13 Aug 25. New Rugged GPU Modules Deliver Enhanced AI & Video Capabilities for Defense. EIZO Rugged Solutions launches Condor NVB XMC GPU cards, delivering advanced AI, video processing, and high-performance computing for compact, mission-critical defense and aerospace platforms. EIZO Rugged Solutions Inc. has released two advanced XMC form factor video graphics and AI GPGPU Coprocessor cards built on NVIDIA RTX PRO™ 2000 and RTX PRO 500 Blackwell Generation GPUs. The new Condor NVB2000xX and Condor NVB500xX are ideal for bringing real-time edge processing and embedded AI applications to existing CPU processors found in mission-critical environments. These compact, low-SWaP solutions deliver cutting-edge AI Inference acceleration and video processing and display capabilities in a rugged XMC form factor, making them ideal for space-constrained platforms such as ISR pods, ground vehicles, and uncrewed aircraft. Both XMC modules support up to three DisplayPort++/DVI outputs as well as the latest generation NVENC and NVDEC Video Codec Engines, enabling high-resolution mission-critical video distribution and visualization.

The Condor NVB XMC series is built on NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, offering up to 8 GB of GDDR7 memory with ECC, support for PCI Express Gen 5, and features up to 3,328 CUDA cores, 5th Gen Tensor Cores, and 4th Gen RT Cores (depending on model). The NVIDIA RTX PRO GPUs bring significant performance enhancements in parallel processing, AI inferencing, and ray-traced rendering for advanced HPEC applications. The NVIDIA Blackwell architecture features compute performance upgrades, including next-generation Blackwell CUDA cores, fifth-generation Tensor Cores, and fourth-generation RT cores. The fifth-generation Tensor Cores accelerate deep learning inference, computer vision, and sensor fusion workloads while maintaining power efficiency in deployed systems.

12 Aug 25. Willog, a leading provider of IoT and AI-powered supply chain intelligence solutions, today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Republic of Korea (R.O.K.) Army Consolidated Supply Depot(Army Logistics Command). The partnership marks a significant step in the South Korean Army’s ongoing digital transformation. Michigan bids to become America’s arsenal of rapid defense innovation.  Instead of welding tank treads by the thousands, the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan, is now 3D printing Patriot missile parts in weeks, advancing robotics and strapping virtual reality headsets on Army leadership to simulate how future weapons are being developed. In World War II, Detroit, Michigan, became the “Arsenal of Democracy,” churning out tanks, jeeps and bombers. Now, 85 years later, Michigan is again pitching itself as America’s factory floor for the future of warfare — except this time, the tools of defense are drones powered by artificial intelligence and made with 3D-printed parts in record time.

Army Secretary Dan Driscoll paid a visit to Detroit on Friday, meeting with a slew of small companies working to break into the defense industry that has historically been reserved for major defense prime contractors.

Driscoll toured the Ground Vehicle Systems Center, or GVSC, with Democratic Sen. Elissa Slotkin, in her home state, along with a bipartisan group of other lawmakers.

“Basically 60% of what an Army soldier drives or shoots comes out of Michigan,” Slotkin told Defense News in an interview Friday. “We are a big producer and manufacturer for the Army and, of course, [the Army’s] transformation initiative went right to the heart of how [Driscoll] sees the force of the future,” she added.

“He saw everything from really cool programs of the future related to drones and tanks and ground vehicles,” Slotkin said of Driscoll’s visit. “He put on some [virtual reality] headsets and looked at one of our growing areas of expertise, which is modeling and simulation,” she noted, which helps to “shorten the string between having an idea and fielding it.”

Additionally, Driscoll toured a new incubator hub for defense technology in downtown Detroit called Newlab and met with a group of CEOs from participating companies, according to Slotkin.

Newlab, established less than a year ago, has grown into a half-mile expanse with over 150 companies, backed by a bn-dollar investment in the city’s Michigan Central Station. There, ideas move from pilot programs to manufacturing spaces to produce new defense technology, Slotkin explained.

“It’s the perfect marriage of Michiganders having the best manufacturing tradition in the country; fifth- and sixth-generation tradesmen, building precision tools with AI and tech of the future,” Slotkin said. “They’ve launched multim-dollar programs right out of downtown Detroit.”

13 Aug 25. New Chinese Stealth Tactical Jet Breaks Cover. Recently emerged imagery largely confirms that China is now test-flying another tailless stealthy combat jet, although it isn’t clear if this is a crewed design or one of its new advanced drones. A high-performance, highly autonomous uncrewed combat air vehicle (UCAV) with collaborative ‘loyal wingman’ capabilities is a major possibility. Still, based on the design, this could very well be yet another sixth-generation crewed jet — one that is similar to, or even would compete more directly with Shenyang’s J-XDS (also nicknamed the J-50 by some) fighter rather than Chengdu’s massive J-36 super-heavy tactical jet. The aircraft seen in the recently emerged images has a notably pointed forward fuselage and nose section that blends into the mid-set wing midway down the fuselage. The highly swept wing has cropped tips, and the trailing edge features a prominent triangular extension, with a ‘W’-like configuration. There are no vertical stabilizers or other separate tail surfaces. The broad fuselage would appear to offer a fairly significant capacity for internal fuel and stores, although details of a weapons bay are not apparent in the available views. Meanwhile, there is speculation among some long-term Chinese aerospace observers that the new aircraft is one of multiple Chinese counterparts to the U.S. Air Force’s Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) ‘loyal wingman’ program. At the same time, it is TWZ’s opinion that a more substantial and advanced unmanned combat air vehicle is perhaps a strong possibility, one that could still incorporate CCA teaming capabilities, but would also be better suited for independent operations. Andreas Rupprecht, a Chinese aviation expert and contributor to this website, told TWZ that he thinks the new imagery shows one of the country’s CCA designs, although he notes that it’s significantly different from the tailless design that was spotted flying together with a pair of Y-9 turboprop transports, in imagery that emerged last month.
