22 Sep 04. The launch of D-Risk by Frazer- Nash at the DVD show has generated considerable interest from private and public sector organisations alike. Since the show Frazer-Nash has been requested to provide presentations throughout the DPA, and have sold a number of D-Risk licences, including one to an international vehicle supplier. Developed in partnership with Category D Integrated Project Team (IPT) project managers at the Defence Procurement Agency, D-Risk is a software tool, designed to quickly assess the risk and potential cost overruns of smaller defence and commercial projects. The software D-Risk tool has been developed to provide a statistically verified visual output of the confidence levels of a project achieving its In Service Date. It enables users to quickly assess the risk and potential cost overruns of smaller defence and commercial projects. . This analysis is now an essential requirement for the defence sector, if projects are to achieve Main Gate approval. D-Risk was designed jointly, and is currently being used by, the Specialist Utility Vehicle (SUV) IPT to calculate the 10%, 50% and 90% confidence levels in achieving delivery dates and project costs on their projects. This ‘3 point estimate’ analysis is an essential requirement for achieving MoD Main Gate approval. The MoD refers to this as 3 point estimates of a project. The software tool is fully compatible with Microsoft Project® and is fully supported by Frazer-Nash’s technical support team.
