28 Aug 25. Galvion celebrates significant head system sales with over 1.25m helmets ordered by NATO and allied customers. Galvion, a world leader in the design and manufacture of innovative head systems, power and data management solutions, and integrated soldier systems, is celebrating the success of its Batlskin® head systems across NATO and allied nations with over 1.25 m helmets having been ordered in the last 10 years. Within that number, to date, over 150,000 Caiman® helmets have been shipped under the long-term NATO framework contract, establishing its flagship Caiman® helmet as the head system of choice for key European NATO members, and reinforcing Galvion’s position as a trusted partner in the delivery of modern, scalable protective headgear. This announcement comes in advance MSPO taking place in Poland, 2-5 September (booth 1-D02) and DSEI taking place in London, 9-12 September (booth N2-420).
This achievement reflects ongoing global demand for Galvion’s integrated helmet systems and adds to a series of contract successes. Notable recent awards include the U.S. Marine Corps Integrated Helmet System (IHS) contract, built on Galvion’s Hellbender™ platform, follow-on orders for the Caiman helmet under Canada’s DICE program, and a federal agency contract for the Hellbender FE variant. As part of Galvion’s long-term NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) framework agreement, over 150,000 Caiman helmets have been shipped to Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Poland. Galvion continues to fulfill orders under this framework, with additional orders anticipated before the end of the year. The company also supports ongoing programs for military and security forces in the United Kingdom, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, and multiple Middle Eastern countries, among others. Orders from new, currently undisclosed customers are also underway.
To support both immediate delivery and long-term sustainment, Galvion’s European production hub in Gdańsk, Poland has been fully operational since April 2025. The facility serves as a key node in Galvion’s regional strategy, delivering new head systems and supporting ongoing servicing, upgrades, and lifecycle sustainment for fielded equipment across the region. North American production remains centered at Galvion’s Vermont manufacturing facility, ensuring continued responsiveness to domestic program requirements.
All of Galvion’s head systems are engineered for seamless integration with modern mission equipment, including night vision devices, communications headsets, and wearable power and data solutions. Earlier this year, Galvion introduced Cortex™, a new category of modular, helmet-mounted computing and data networking systems that will offer advanced capability upgrades for both the Caiman and Hellbender platforms. The launch of Cortex reflects Galvion’s commitment to delivering future-ready technologies that evolve alongside user needs and operational environments.

03 Sep 25. ISTEC launches Mk2 Softmount for M2 Heavy Machine Gun (HMG) at DSEi 25. ISTEC Services Limited, a British company with 36 years of operationally proven experience in the design, manufacture and supply of complex weapon integration solutions and smoke discharger systems (SDS) for military platforms, is launching their Mk2 Softmount for the M2 Heavy Machine Gun (HMG). This announcement coincides with DSEi 25, taking place at Excel, London, 9-12 September 2025, where ISTEC will be exhibiting this mount, alongside their other products at booth N5-210.

ISTEC has a significant pedigree in providing robust weapon integration solutions for crew-served weapons such as the L7A2 GPMG, M2 HMG and other machine guns, across Land, Sea and Air domains. They also have an extensive operational record supplying Universal Gun Mounts (UGMs) for key vehicles such as WMIK, Mastiff, Husky and Jackal platforms used for Land operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

ISTEC’s portfolio of HMG softmounts have been successfully deployed with NATO allies since the ‘90s, with 1000s in service globally. The HMG Softmount Mk2 is the latest addition to that portfolio. It is a buffered mount specifically designed for use with the 12.7mm M2 and M2 QCB weapon systems and, with an interface plate fitted, can also mount a 70mm rocket launcher giving users an organic fires capability without needing separate platform infrastructure. It has a modular design ethos to maximise its utility in a wide variety of roles including fire support, air defence and close vehicle protection. The mount system incorporates an auxiliary firing mechanism on the mount handlebars. This feature along with the battle proven ISTEC HMG buffering mechanism, which removes approximately 40% of the max peak felt recoil during firing, improves target acquisition time and the firing experience for the user. The softmount can also be fitted with a link and case catcher, and shoulder bar assembly.
The new Softmount Mk2 will be on display at DSEi 25 on the ISTEC stand (N5-210). It will be displayed mounted on a Naval pedestal suitable for all specialist and grey fleet vessels and fitted to a tripod with a 70mm Rocket launcher. The Mk2 Softmount will also be on top of the new Fering Pioneer X (pictured). The Pioneer X is an ultra-high-mobility, expanded capability variant of the world’s longest range all-terrain electric vehicle, specifically designed for the complex mission profiles typical of specialist user groups for which an HMG top mounted is the perfect fit. The Pioneer-X shown on the ISTEC stand, also incorporates the new Thales FZ275 LGR laser-guided rocket, successfully trialled to engage variable drone classes and swarm attack. In addition, the Mk2 Softmount can be found on the Precision Technic Defence Ltd stand (N2-210) showing an HMG fitted with the Support Weapons Enhanced Sighting Systems (SWESS) kit.

02 Sep 25. Robotican, a leading Israeli pioneer in the development of autonomous robotic and drone technologies, has introduced a powerful new capability for its combat-proven ROOSTER hybrid drone system: a precision-guided warhead, turning the ROOSTER into a loitering munition designed specifically for indoor missions and urban operation. The newly integrated configuration includes a total payload capacity of up to 300-gr enabling the installation of a precision warhead alongside additional mission-specific payloads. This allows the ROOSTER to deliver high-precision engagement inside buildings, tunnels, and confined environments. Retaining its signature hybrid design, the ROOSTER can seamlessly switch between rolling and flying, allowing it to navigate tight spaces and deliver targeted strikes with minimal collateral damage. This breakthrough capability is supported by AI-based object detection and target Tracking & locking, enabling the ROOSTER to autonomously identify, track, and lock on to user operator objects or threats. A built-in multi-layered safety mechanism ensures secure handling and controlled activation, protecting friendly forces throughout operation.

“With the armed ROOSTER, we are bringing precision and autonomy to environments that were previously off-limits to loitering munitions,” said Hagai Balshai, CEO of Robotican. “Forces can now conduct surgical strikes inside structures with a compact, intelligent platform that minimizes risk to operators and surrounding civilians.”

The armed ROOSTER expands the system’s mission scope beyond ISR, rescue, and inspection to include neutralization of threats in urban warfare, subterranean operations, and hostage rescue scenarios- all while maintaining the system’s lightweight, single-operator portability and NATO-registered reliability. Thanks to its modular design and mission-specific payload integration, the ROOSTER offers unmatched operational flexibility, allowing forces to configure the system for diverse operational requirements, from intelligence gathering to precision engagement. This adaptability significantly increases its tactical utility in dynamic and unpredictable combat environments.

 

02 Sep 25, UVision Air Ltd., a global pioneer in loitering munition systems, is unveiling a major advancement in autonomous warfare: an AI-based Common Operating System (COS) that serves as a unified platform for operating multiple loitering munitions of various classes, mission types, and deployment levels.
Designed for full interoperability, the COS enables seamless integration of rotary-wing platforms such as the Viper system by SpearUAV – operated at tactical team levels including squad, platoon, battalion, and beyond – alongside Uvision’s fixed-wing HERO family, including the long-range, high-payload HERO-120 and HERO-400. This allows commanders to make data-driven decisions on how many and which types of munitions to deploy for maximum mission effectiveness and cost-efficiency.
With an open-architecture design, UVision’s COS integrates seamlessly into existing command-and-control ecosystems, reducing barriers to adoption and enhancing cross-platform synergy.
