About the Role: A leading manufacturing company based in Newbury that supplies electro-mechanical products to number of different industries, including the defence industry are looking to recruit a production engineer to join their highly skilled team.
This requirement is a great opportunity for an individual to invest long-term into a company and further develop their technical production skills.
As Production Engineer, you will be responsible for NPI, hands-on production, ensuring that all areas of production reach maximum efficiency, be able to rectify any production line issues, project plan and ultimately improve quality at the same time as reducing costs.
Some of the key experiences required for this role:
* Electro-mechanical products
* Low/ medium volume – bespoke manufacturing
* Project management
* Continuous improvement/ lean exposure

20 Jul 17. Peli extends British facility. Peli Products has doubled the size of their office and facilities at its UK engineering branch, Peli-Hardigg, in Ashford, Kent to 40,000 square feet.
“The increase in space has also allowed us to create a more efficient manufacturing process – increasing the foam fabrica-tion and foam assembly areas as well as doubling the size of our custom design area, a true differentiator for us in the market,” said Piero Marigo, Peli Products EMEA Managing Director. “Engineers can customise every point of the designs of the protective system from shock and vibration attenuation to impact protection and operational logistics according to individual product specifications, usage and environmental analysis. As part of our ambitious, multi-year development plan and our focus on innovative solutions, Peli-Hardigg will also further increase the size of its engineering department over the coming months.” (Source: ESD)

20 Jul 17. Côte d’Ivoire receives patrol boat donated by China. China has donated a patrol boat to Côte d’Ivoire to help in the fight against piracy in the Gulf of Guinea, the Xinhau news agency reported on 15 July. “This donation will allow the navy of Côte d’Ivoire to take off,” Xinhau reported the Ivorian defence minister Alain Donwahi as saying. “This is a major step in Sino-Ivorian co-operation.” The news agency added that the boat was launched on 19 May and was worth CNY30m (USD4.4m). The Chinese embassy in Côte d’Ivoire released a statement on 19 July announcing the patrol boat donation, but saying the CNY30m also covered a new naval repair facility. It released a photograph showing the patrol boat that looks like the Iraqi Navy’s 27 m-long Predator class with a slightly redesigned hull. (Source: IHS Jane’s)

Ford (CVN 78), during a 10 a.m. EDT ceremony Saturday, July 22, at Naval Station Norfolk. USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) is the lead ship of the new Gerald R.
