26 Feb 15. Mercury Systems Opens 2nd Innovation Center. Mercury Systems, Inc. (has opened the second of four planned, world-class Mercury Innovation Centers – this one located at its corporate headquarters in Chelmsford, Mass. The first Mercury Innovation Center opened on April 18, 2014, at the Company’s Advanced Microelectronics Center (AMC) in Hudson, N.H. This newest Mercury Innovation Center is a showplace for the Company’s advanced embedded and high-performance capabilities across the sensor processing chain, industry-leading thermal cooling solutions, and a wide range of state-of-the-art technologies and subsystems that are relied on by leading defense Prim(Source: ASD Network)

24 Feb 15. e2v Grenoble facilities awarded QMLV certification. e2v announced the official MIL-PRF-30535 class V (QMLV) certification of its facilities based in Grenoble, France – the highest standard of quality and reliability for Aerospace-grade microelectronics and integrated circuits. The QMLV certification is a United States military performance-based specification document that defines the general requirements, as well as the quality assurance and reliability requirements, for the manufacturers of microelectronic or integrated circuits used in military applications and high-reliability microcircuit application programs. Class V of the QML certification, which e2v’s facilities have been awarded, means the facilities have been subjected to and passed all applicable requirements for space level products.
Laurent Monge, Vice President of Semiconductors, commented, “e2v is committed to providing high-reliability and superior performance products for the Aerospace market and receiving our QMLV certification underpins our dedication to achieve this. We are delighted to have met and passed the criteria and performances required and plan to list our QMLV rated products in the near future.”

23 Feb 15. Rockwell Collins has opened a new business office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a key growth market for the company. The announcement was made at IDEX 2015, the Middle East’s premier defense exhibition, taking place this week. The new office will help serve existing alliances and customers that Rockwell Collins has in-country. The company also intends to build new relationships and offerings for the Saudi Arabian government, airlines, business aviation, airports and critical infrastructure. The office in Riyadh will operate as part of Rockwell Collins’ Middle East operations. Other offices serving the region include Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Cairo.

23 Feb 15. AgustaWestland Aviation Services LLC (AWAS), an Abu Dhabi Aviation (ADA) and Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland joint venture, announced it is expanding its range of support solutions serving the growing fleet of AgustaWestland helicopters in the Middle East. A three stage capability expansion plan will further grow AWAS’ range of support services in line with the continued expansion of the regional helicopter fleet. These plans include the completion of the introduction of helicopter MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) and logistics services, expansion of MRO services for a range of components, including a range of AW139 main rotor items, by the second half of this year and the introduction of capabilities to support the latest additions to the AgustaWestland product range, the AW189 and AW169, which have already received important orders by operators in the region. With the introduction of these capabilities AWAS will become a major support hub for the whole AgustaWestland Family of new generation helicopters.
