26 Mar 04. Northrop Grumman Corporation has appointed Carolyn Martin Pittman vice president of finance and controller for its Integrated Systems sector. In this assignment, she will continue leading the sector’s efforts to leverage common systems and shared services to achieve high quality, cost effective financial and accounting practices. She will report to Lance Newquist, the sector’s vice president of business management and chief financial officer.

01 Apr 04. AMS has opened a Washington DC office to further its North American focus in pursuit of its strategy to develop additional business in the United States. The Company has appointed Mr. Dennis Kennelly as Vice President to establish and maintain key US Government relationships and to facilitate discussions between AMS’ international divisions and the US programme offices and Industry.

01 Apr 04. Boeing officials have announced the opening of an Integrated Defense Systems field office in Norfolk, Va. A result of increased customer activity in the Greater Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Suffolk areas, the office will support Naval and Joint customer activities in Virginia, Rhode Island and Europe.

03 Mar 04. SI International, Inc. announced that Bill James has joined the Company as Senior Vice President of Defense and Intelligence Business Development. Mr. James will be responsible for developing SI International’s presence in the defense and intelligence markets and ensuring that the Company’s service offerings support the mission critical needs of customers across the Department of Defense and the intelligence community.

31 Mar 04. Barco celebrated the official opening of an 88,000 square foot (= 8,175 m²) addition to its North American BarcoView facility in Duluth, Georgia. The facility’s new expansion consists of a two-story addition, totaling 88,000 square foot. It will house Engineering, Sales and Marketing activities, as well as Customer Service and Warehousing. In addition, the new facility will allow BarcoView to increase production capacity of its high-performance graphics and video controller boards, high-resolution displays and integrated visualization systems for the Defense & Security, and Traffic Management markets. The expansion was critical to effectively answer customer demands in these markets.

25 Mar 04. Raytheon Systems Limited has today announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors: Shirley Madin is Raytheon Systems Limited’s Executive Director of Human Resources. She came to Raytheon in 2001 from AEA Technology plc, the privatised arm of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy (UKAEA), which she had originally joined in 1978. Dean Mason is Raytheon Systems Limited’s Director of Business Development and Strategy. Before joining Raytheon, he spent 18 years with the RAF flying Tornado GR1’s and retiring as a Wing Commander. His operational flying experience includes participation in Operation SOUTHERN WATCH; in-theatre planning of the RAF Tornado GR1’s campaign in Operation DESERT STORM; and six months as Deputy Combined Forces Air Component Commander for Operation PROVIDE COMFORT (now NORTHERN WATCH). He was awarded an MBE in 1991.
