MANAGEMENT ON THE MOVE

05 Mar 04. The First Sea Lord has approved the formation of a new post: Chief-of-Staff Maritime Homeland Defence. Flag Officer Scotland, Northern England and Northern Ireland (FOSNNI), Rear Admiral N H L Harris MBE, is to assume the additional duties. The Admiral is required to ensure that the UK is “alert to the dangers of terrorist threats by sea and could counter them”. Comment: FOSNNI already has the additional duties of Naval Base Commander Clyde (NBC CLYDE) and seems destined to have the longest abbreviated appointment description in the Services: FOSNNI/NBC CLYDE/CoSMHD.(Source: DNA DEFENCE NEWS ANALYSIS Issue 04/11, 08Mar 04)

05 Mar 04. EADS co-Chief Executive Rainer Hertrich will assume additional responsibility for running its aeronautics division from April 1, 2004.Hertrich will replace Dietrich Russell, who is retiring at the end of March.

02 Mar 04. Max L. Lukens has been elected President and Chief Executive Officer of Stewart & Stevenson. Mr. Lukens has served as interim C.E.O. since September 2003. Howard Wolf has been named non-executive Chairman of the Board, replacing Max Lukens as he assumes his new responsibilities. Mr. Wolf has been on the Board of Directors since 1999. Don Kyle was recently named President of Power Products and brings solid sales, marketing and operational experience to that business. Also, Mark Whitman has been named President of the Engineered Products Division with responsibility for the Petroleum Equipment and Utility Equipment product lines. He brings extensive experience in manufacturing and international business. Pete DeFronzo has been named President of Distributed Energy Solutions and will focus exclusively on managing that business.
