08 Dec 03. Northrop Grumman Corporation announced that Thomas H. Johnston has joined the Newport News sector as vice president, Contracts and Pricing. He will initially serve as deputy to Ron Ward, current vice president of Contracts and Pricing, and will transition to Ward’s position upon Ward’s retirement next year. Johnston will be responsible for proposal development, negotiations and administration of prime contracts.
01 Dec 03. The Board of Directors of EDO Corporation has elected Lieutenant General (Ret.) Leslie F. Kenne to the company’s Board, effective as of November 26. General Kenne, 56, retired from the U.S. Air Force in September, where she had most recently been deputy chief of staff for Warfighting Integration at the Air Force headquarters in Washington, D.C. In that position, she was responsible to the Secretary of the Air Force and the Chief of Staff for policy and strategies to integrate C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) capabilities into a more effective utilization of air and space power.

Wetekam is currently serving as commander, Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Robins Air Force Base, Ga.

Levitre is being assigned as director, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, FORCEnet, N6/N7, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Arlington, Va. Levitre is currently serving as director for intelligence, J2, U.S. Pacific Command, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Brown is being assigned as deputy for acquisition and business management, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition, Arlington, Va. Brown is currently serving as commander, Naval Supply Systems Command, N132, Arlington Detachment, Arlington, Va.
10 Dec 03. The U.S. Secretary of Defense announced the resignation of Stephen M. Younger as director of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), effective Feb. 27, 2004. Younger will return to Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos, N.M., as a senior fellow. A replacement for Younger has not been named.
11th Dec 03. Raytheon Systems Limited announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors, David Wright CBE BA CEng FIEE has some 40 years experience in the defence industry. David was, until his retirement at the end of 2000, an Executive Director of GKN plc, having been responsible for the Aerospace (GKN Westland) and Military Vehicle businesses. Jim Trail is Chief Operating Officer of Raytheon Systems Limited and is based in the company’s Glenrothes, Fife, facility. Since joining the company in 1972, Jim has held various senior management positions in both Finance and Manufacturing and was appointed General Manager of Power and Control Systems at Glenrothes in 2002 before becoming COO in October 2003.
