“The Project Manager is responsible for performing multiple, varying, and complex activities necessary to meet the deliverables associated with a Special Program or Project in the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Integration Office (AUS). Assignments frequently require knowledge and experience working across functional and/or organizational lines.
“Applies experience and comprehensive knowledge of project management strategies, principles, and concepts to help organize teams and complete projects according to their success criteria while engaging stakeholders. Ensures open and effective communication, cooperation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Plans, coordinates, monitors, and reports on the progress of multiple ongoing projects. Identifies, plans, and organizes available resources to accomplish projects/programs/activities. Makes optimal use of resources to complete activities within established schedules and assigned milestones. Works with program manager in formulating, defending, and executing project budgets and schedules. As a Project Manager for activities, participates in phase, milestone, final project reviews, and other project meetings.

06 Jan 25. GSA Seeks New Members for Federal Secure Cloud Advisory Committee – (90 Fed. Reg. 651) – The General Services Administration (GSA) is seeking applications to fill three (3) membership seats on the Federal Secure Cloud Advisory Committee (hereinafter “the Committee” or “the FSCAC”). GSA, in compliance with the FedRAMP Authorization Act of 2022, established the FSCAC, an advisory committee in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act, as amended (5 U.S.C. ch. 10). The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) within GSA is responsible for providing a standardized, reusable approach to security assessment and authorization for cloud computing products and services that process unclassified information used by agencies. The FSCAC will provide advice and recommendations to the Administrator of GSA, the FedRAMP Board, and agencies on technical, financial, programmatic, and operational matters regarding the secure adoption of cloud computing products and services. The FSCAC will ensure effective and ongoing coordination of agency adoption, use, authorization, monitoring, acquisition, and security of cloud computing products and services to enable agency mission and administrative priorities. Business and Trade Secretary Jonathan Reynolds has reappointed Lord Mark Lancaster as the Government’s Defence and Security Advocate, to drive the UK’s defence and security export success until March 2026. Lord Lancaster will report directly to the Business and Trade Secretary and will continue his programme of visits both overseas and at home to promote UK defence and security exports.

06 Jan 25. DOD Establishes Strategic and Critical Materials Board of Directors. The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has announced the formal establishment of the Strategic and Critical Materials Board of Directors, pursuant to the Stock Piling Act and the Federal Advisory Committee Act. The Board is a non-discretionary Federal Advisory Committee and will advise the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment on a strategy for securing DoD’s supply chains for strategic and critical materials and strengthening the National Defense Stockpile (NDS). “The National Defense Industrial Strategy highlights the critical importance of working together with stakeholders to identify innovative solutions for complex industrial base challenges,” said Dr. Laura Taylor-Kale, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy (ASD(IBP)), “This Board will convene leading experts across industry and the federal government to inform the Department’s efforts to ensure secure and resilient access to the materials and minerals that underpin key defense capabilities.” The Board will be chaired by the ASD(IBP), with members designated by the DoD, Department of Energy, Department of State, Department of Commerce, Department of the Interior, and the Armed Services Committees of the House and Senate. Lebanese lawmakers elected army commander Joseph Aoun as president on Thursday, ending more than two years of political stalemate in a major concession of domestic power by a weakened Hizbollah. After two rounds of voting in a raucous parliamentary session, Aoun was elected with 99 votes, more than the required two-thirds majority. The position of president had been vacant since October 2022, after which there were more than a dozen failed attempts to elect a leader as Lebanon’s bitterly divided politicians were unable to agree on a candidate. Eutelsat America Corp. and OneWeb Technologies Inc (EACOWT), which operate as a wholly owned independent U.S. proxy company and subsidiary of Eutelsat Group, today announced the appointment of Ian Canning as president and chief executive officer (CEO). His appointment by the EACOWT board of directors became effective on December 20, 2024. Ian served as EACOWT’s chief operating officer and most recently served as the company’s acting CEO. Yaakov Berkovich was appointed vice president and general manager of IAI’s Aviation Group, while Oded Jacobowitz was appointed as general manager of the Defense Plant in IAI’s Missile and Space Systems Group. Berkovich began his tenure at IAI in 2009 and. He served in various positions in the Aviation Group and in international marketing. In his most recent position, he was general manager of the Conversion and Upgrade plant within IAI’s Aviation Group. Berkovich, who was released from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) with the rank of colonel and in his last post served as head of the Israeli Air Force’s transport aircraft branch, holds a degree in aeronautical engineering and a master’s degree in quality and reliability assurance, both from the Technion: the Israel Institute of Technology. He also holds a law degree from Ono Academic College. Berkovich will succeed Shmuel Kuzi and will report directly to the IAI CEO. Jacobowitz began his tenure at IAI in 2018, serving in various positions at the Defense Systems plant, including as head of the Directorate of Land Systems and plant deputy general manager. He was released from the IDF with the rank of lieutenant colonel and served among other roles as commander of a rebuilding and maintenance centre in the army’s Technological and Logistics Directorate. Jacobowitz, who holds a physics degree from the Technion and an MBA from Bar-Ilan University, will succeed Dror Bar, who was recently appointed vice president and CEO of IAI’s ELTA Group.
