IRAQ WAR LESS LIKELY

14 Nov 02. Sources close to BATTLESPACE suggest that the likelihood of war with Iraq may have receded with unconfirmed reports suggesting that one way out for the Saddam Hussein may be to step down and appoint his son Uday as ruler.

This would rule out a US-led invasion of the region and allow UN weapons inspectors to complete their work.

A settlement in Iraq would enable the most pressing matter in the region, a Palestinian homeland settlement between Israel and Palestine to continue to a positive solution between the two nations.

This news will come as a relief to Tony Blair whose Armed Forces are at full stretch dealing with the fireman’s strike and tackling the updating of the Challenger 2 tank fleet to desert specifications which is rumoured to be taking at least another 3 months
