On 5 February 2015, the Canadian government published a report from industry consultations in relation to the development of an Electro-Optic and Infrared (EO-IR) Procurement Strategy. The objectives of the consultations were to provide the industry with a draft of the EO-IR Procurement Strategy and obtain feedback that the Government could use to enhance its strategy and procurement. This marks completion of Stage 2 of the 5 stages in the process towards creating the strategy.

06 Feb 15. Canada- Tender for Project MAESTRO. The Department of National Defence has released a tender for what it describes as the design, development and delivery of a “Distributed and Networked System of Multi-functional and Dynamic Sensor, Jammer and Communication Capability” as part of Project MAESTRO.
The requirement includes:
• A Software Defined Radio (SDR) platform to support “multi-functional capabilities within an integrated and network enabled environment.”
• A Mission Planning Tool which “identifies, prioritizes, interprets, displays, manages and dynamically reallocates the SDR applications based on mission requirements as dictated by a mission planner.”
• A Task Authorisation component for ad-hoc work and supporting services.
The contract is expected to run until March 2018, with a possible extension of up to three years

(QRs) for mini All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). The specifications include:

• Pay load: On hard surface – 500kg; on soft/marsh area – 400kg
• Hard surface speed: 30kmph
