16 Oct 14. Danish DALO seeks to resupply bombs with penetration capacity
The Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) have released a tender to seek suppliers to resupply bomb bodies with penetration capacity. DALO wish to procure 50 units of bomb bodies with penetration capacity including an option to buy an additional 50 units in future. According to the information in the tender notice, the bomb bodies with penetration capacity shall be used for the RDAF F-16 Fighter Falcon and must therefore be certified on EPAF F-16 (Block 10 and 15). They must also be compatible with the Precision Guided Munition Systems (PGM) located in the current inventory in the Danish Defence (JDAM and Paveway for MK82, MK84 and BLU-109).
Suppliers will be selected through a negotiated tender process.

29 Oct 14. Indian Army Gun-shot detection systems for the Border Security Force. Issuing Authority: Directorate General of Mechanised Forces. The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has requested expression of interest from the industry for the supply of gun-shot detection systems. The notice, which was issued on 20 October, is for detection systems in three configurations that will be capable of detecting gun-shots ranging from 5.56mm to 12.7mm. The three configurations under which the systems are required are as follows:
1. For dismountable soldiers a system that is easily mountable on a variety of guns in service with the
BSF including the 5.56 mm INSAS rifle, 7.62 x 39mm, 7.62 x 51mm, and 12.7mm rifles.
2. Stand-alone systems that can easily be mounted on tripods
3. Vehicle-mounted systems
Technical specifications vary for each requirement and they can be accessed from the tender documents.
Important features of the system in general are the accuracy, detection range, electro-optics, uncooled thermal imager, CCD based camera, and other inbuilt systems like GPS.

24 Oct 14. New Zealand RFI for underwater ISR capability. The New Zealand Ministry of Defence has released a tender for the supply and support of the Underwater Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (UWISR) capability project for the P-3K2 Orion aircraft. The tender follows the requirements stated in the RFI which was issued in February 2013. The MoD seeks responses only from those companies that can demonstrate that they have the requisite skills, knowledge, resources, experience, and security clearances to provide a complete airborne UWISR capability solution.

04 Nov 14. Lockheed Martin says Israel considering additional C-130Js. The Israeli Air Force (IAF) might expand its fleet of C-130J Hercules fleet to up to nine aircraft, a senior Lockheed Martin executive said in Israel on 4 November. The IAF has already taken delivery of two C-130Js, a contract has been signed for another two and advanced talks are underway to acquire a fifth and sixth aircraft, according to Patrick M Dewar, executive vice-president of Lockheed Martin International. Once the contract is finalised, the two additional aircraft can be delivered within two and a half years, he said. In the next stage, Israel will examine the possibility of acquiring an additional three C-130Js, Dewar added. (Source: IHS Jane’s)
