05 Sep 07. A new joint venture has unveiled plans to equip light to medium armoured vehicles with state-of-the-art regenerative NBC (nuclear, biological and chemical) protection technology as it bids to expand on its existing customer base of heavy armour systems. domnick hunter Protective Systems, which currently supplies regenerative NBC protection technology for the Challenger 2 main battle tank (MBT), has signed a teaming agreement with nano-porous solutions limited (n-psl), a commercial off-shoot of the University of Bath’s chemical engineering department. 06 Sep 07. Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC (RTSC), a subsidiary of Raytheon Company, has signed a teaming agreement with Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc., to pursue the Federal Aviation Administration’s Air Traffic Control Optimum Training Solution(ATCOTS) program. ATCOTS is the FAA’s program to procure a performance-based solution for training of new and current air traffic controllers. The FAA is expected to announce the multi-year, performance-based award, with an estimated value of more than $100m, in 2008.

14 Sep 07. Thales UK and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace of Norway have teamed up to “address the UK remote weapons station [RWS] market”, the companies announced at DSEi 2007 in London. David Clark, Thales UK’s director of product management for Land & Joint Systems, said the two companies have signed “an exclusive teaming arrangement” to provide integrated solutions for the British Army, with a focus on armoured fighting vehicle (AFV) programmes. Comment: This is a surprise move since Thales disposed of its OWS segment two years ago which is now run by its original owner, Glynn Bottomeley.
