24 Apr 06. SI International, Inc. is a member of the USfalcon, Inc. team that has been awarded a U.S. Army Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) contract. The contract supports the U.S. Army Communications Electronics Life Cycle Management Command (CE LCMC) with a range of engineering, logistics, and business operations services. The USfalcon team is one of seven teams awarded the Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract with a 5-year base period and one five-year option with an estimated ceiling value of $19.25bn, inclusive of the option period. Task order awards under the contract will be based upon competition among the contract holders.

21 Apr 06. Boeing will lead the U.S. industry team that will help a consortium of European companies and EUROCONTROL devise a new, streamlined air traffic management system for Europe. The project is known as the Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) program. As part of a 24-month SESAR definition phase subcontract awarded by the Air Traffic Alliance (a grouping of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co., Airbus and Thales), the Boeing Phantom Works Advanced Air Traffic Management team is working with U.S. companies Honeywell and Rockwell Collins to ensure that global system interoperability and standardization objectives are achieved, and to plan near-term development projects. The Boeing-led team’s efforts will contribute to four milestone deliverables of the SESAR program — a market analysis of air transport value and the role of air traffic management, the setting of performance requirements and standards, the selection of target ATM concepts, and identification of a transition schedule to deploy a new ATM system in Europe. Work in the SESAR definition phase will result in a master plan through 2020 for the new European ATM system and a detailed organizational work program for 2008 to 2013.

Northrop Grumman Corporation has entered into a strategic alliance agreement with Digital Fountain Inc. to offer advanced communications technology to a wide range of U.S. and allied government customers. Northrop Grumman provides world-class systems integration capabilities that can enable a variety of users to exchange real-time information on tactical, ad-hoc networks. It specializes in offering new networking concepts to address its customers’ technology gaps. These capabilities will be enhanced by Digital Fountain’s expertise in fundamental technology and software components that dramatically improve the quality and performance of communications in the most challenging network conditions.

24 Apr 06. Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC (RTSC) and McNeil Security will team to offer private security screening services to airports across the country. RTSC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raytheon Company, and McNeil Security Inc., a subsidiary of McNeil Technologies, will offer a wide range of airport security services to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) including passenger and baggage screening services. The services will be offered as part of the TSA’s Screening Partnership Program (SPP), which allows airport operators to submit an application to have security screening provided by a qualified private company. RTSC and McNeil Security have a legacy of delivering transportation security services and homeland security technologies. McNeil Security currently provides front-line security to the TSA, providing passenger and baggage screening services at Greater Rochester International Airport, one of the six airports participating in the SPP. Raytheon delivers a wide array of homeland security solutions and has a proud history of evaluating, deploying and integrating transportation and airport security technologies for the TSA and the Federal Aviation Administration.
