10 Oct 06. Lockheed Martin and Armor Holdings, Inc. are teaming to compete for the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) program. JLTV is intended to be the next generation in light armored wheeled tactical vehicles for the armed services. Lockheed Martin will serve as the prime contractor and systems integrator, providing the vehicle design, net-centric capabilities and logistics. Armor Holdings will primarily be responsible for vehicle assembly. Additionally, AHI will lead the design and manufacture of the armor survivability subsystems. Alcoa of Pittsburgh, PA, JWF Industries of Johnstown, PA, and Axletech International of Troy, MI will also provide key support to Lockheed Martin for this opportunity. In early February, Lockheed Martin was awarded a $9m contract to build a technology demonstration vehicle for the second phase of the U.S. Army’s Future Tactical Truck Systems (FTTS) Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD). The FTTS ACTD will help refine the requirements for the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle.

This collaboration will enable both companies to jointly support a growing number of customers in the real-time computing market with more efficient, dependable, and predictable software. PERC is the most widely used real-time Virtual Machine available for Java developers, with fielded installations in telecommunication, telematics, avionics, deep space exploration and office automation applications. PERC Ultra features the predictable performance critically needed for complex embedded applications requiring J2SE support.

Raytheon Company has established a strategic partnership agreement with the Air Force’s Warner Robins Air Logistics Center in Georgia to work together on a logistics approach to the Joint Cargo Aircraft program. Raytheon is leading a team that is offering the C-295 produced by EADS CASA North America to support combat operations of the U.S. Army and Air Force. The C-295 is combat-proven by coalition partners around the world and is certified by the Federal Aviation Administration.
