16 May 07. Acro, Inc. announced a new, powerful version of ACRO-P.E.T., the company’s innovative, patented peroxide explosive tester. The new version enables easier verification of peroxide based explosives, such as Triacetone Triperoxide (TATP), and is easier to operate. In addition, Acro improved the sampling device that enables easy and immediate sampling of suspicious liquids in addition to all other forms of explosives, including powder. The new version will be available in the third quarter of 2007. Targeted for marketing primarily through channel partners, ACRO-P.E.T. can identify peroxide-based explosives, which may appear in a variety of shapes and forms, including liquid explosives. Peroxide-based explosives are very difficult to identify, since they do not contain nitro groups and are colorless. ACRO-P.E.T. is designed to support the widest range of law enforcement and military operating environments, including airports, border control facilities, streets and battlefields, among others. It is a vital tool in the global war against terrorism.
