Harris Corporation, an international communications and information technology company serving government and commercial markets in more than 150 countries, is making two announcements during DSEi.

Harris – Stand No. 923 – is introducing the RF-7800M-MP, a multiband high-capacity data radio that dramatically enhances the ability of military personnel to communicate while on the move. The RF-7800M-MP provides secure voice and high-speed networked data services over an extended bandwidth of 30 MHz to 2 GHz. The single-channel radio runs both narrowband and wideband waveforms off a single military battery. The initial release of the radio will include the Harris Advanced Networking Wideband Waveform (ANW2) for mobile ad-hoc networking capability. The ANW2 networking waveform provides secure IP data to the tactical Internet at on-air rates of up to 10 mpbs.

Harris is also demonstrating the capabilities of its newly announced International Government Systems (IGS) initiative through the introduction of the Harris Border Security system. The Border Security Shelter is a rugged, self-contained field command center that combines communications, command and control, and sensor systems under a single roof, tied together with either the Harris Falcon® II tactical radio network or a customer’s existing networking infrastructure. The shelter is an offering from Harris IGS, an initiative that combines the company’s expertise in systems integration with its own industry-leading tactical communications products. The Border Security Shelter application brings together in a single location the technologies that border forces need to carry out their missions—radar, sensors, video cameras, radios, and more. The shelter is configurable and scaleable to suit customer needs.
