23 Jul 02. Gulfstream is targeting what it sees as a growing market for its aircraft to be used in special operations by governments.
The company, a division of General Dynamics Corp. (GD), said it already has seen strong sales of its family of aircraft to governments beyond the U.S.
About 150 aircraft will have been delivered to governments by the end of the year, translating historically to roughly 15% of Gulfstream’s sales, said Buddy Sams, vice president of government sales. Of the 150 aircraft, between 15 and 20 were sold for special operations, while 10 to 12 were sold specifically for surveillance use.
