13 Apr 06. General Dynamics Corp. received two contracts worth nearly half a billion dollars on Wednesday. The company said the U.S. Army ordered 306 Stryker wheeled combat vehicles from its Land Systems business unit worth $463.9 million. The fiscal 2006 order is an extension of a November 2000 contract to provide more than 2,100 armored vehicles. To date, about 1,500 Strykers have been delivered.
Separately, General Dynamics said it received a $10 million contract from the U.S. Navy to provide submarine maintenance and modernization work at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Virginia.
