- DigitalCrew™: Thales’ all-new virtual member of the crew. Domain, platform and sensor agnostic, DigitalCrew™ provides enhanced situational awareness for soldiers in armoured vehicles, while reducing the cognitive burden on operators with its autonomous detection, tracking and AI-powered classification capabilities.
Also on the stand, Thales will be exhibiting the Panoramic Above Armour Gimbal (PAAG) – its cutting edge 360-degree electronic surveillance and sighting system; featuring state-of-the-art sensors that give vehicle commanders and crews a crucial tactical advantage on the frontline.
Elsewhere across the show, Thales is demonstrating the sensors and digital solutions at the heart of Britain’s armoured vehicle capabilities. This includes:

Aim
The aim is to bring together the military, academia, and industry to discuss current and future developments in close combat and dismounted technologies and procedures. It will also consider current and future equipment pipelines.
Theme

Delivering lethal effect – How do we harness digital targeting to enhance the dismounted close combat kill web?
Format
The event is planned to be held over three days.
- 1 July: Day 1, is at the Defence Academy of the UK in Shrivenham and provides insight from Army HQ and other customers on their intent for the future. This is supplemented by presentations from academia and industry.
- 2 July: Day 2 takes place at Cranfield University’s COTEC range facility on Salisbury Plain. This involves live-firing demonstrations from industry as well as an opportunity for delegates to fire small arms from different manufacturers and with different optics and technologies. There is also the opportunity to showcase and demonstrate autonomous and remote technologies.
- 3 July: Day 3 is back at Shrivenham and provides more technology briefs from industry and academia.
Call for Papers
If you wish to present a paper based on this year’s theme, please Submit an abstract of around 200 words by e-mail to Leanne no later than Monday 24 March 2025. Papers should be planned to take no more than 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes for questions either individually or in plenary.

13 Jan 25. Farnborough International Space Show & ISRSE-40 announce first wave of speakers.
Babcock and Rolls-Royce also announce their presence.
Leaders from NASA, Babcock International Group (Babcock), Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, UK Ministry of Defence, and the US Government have been confirmed as speakers for the Farnborough International Space Show and The 40th International Symposium on Remote Sensing of Environment, taking place in the UK during March 2025.
In addition, international pioneers Babcock and Rolls-Royce have announced their presence and support of the Farnborough International organised exhibition.
Taking place 19-20 March 2025 at Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre in Hampshire, UK, the location of the world-famous Farnborough International Airshow, the event is designed to pioneer the commercial space age and advance space domain defence. From international governments, space commands and space agencies, to leading manufacturers, industry start-ups, and renowned academics, the show is set to be the most important and only occasion for the entire space ecosystem to meet in the UK.

Babcock, which operates Skynet, the UK’s military satellite communications system, among many other critical activities, will showcase its innovative solutions and technologies driving advancements in the space sector at the show.
