08 Aug 24. The SATELLITE Conference & Exhibition Announces the Inaugural GovMilSpace 2025: A New Era for Government and Military Space Collaboration. The SATELLITE Conference & Exhibition proudly announces the launch of GovMilSpace 2025, an exciting new addition to our event lineup. This new forum will complement our distinguished SATELLITE show, which continues to be the premier global satellite and space industry event.
As we navigate an era where space and cybersecurity are integral to national defense, SATELLITE’s GovMilSpace emerges as a crucial platform uniting government and military satellite and space service providers and end-users. Taking place during SATELLITE Week from March 10-13, 2025, GovMilSpace, in partnership with Defense Daily – the leader in defense market intelligence – will become the central hub for leading voices in defense, security, and space to connect, collaborate, and partner.
Featuring a groundbreaking program and exhibit hall pavilion, this SATELLITE expansion provides an exclusive platform for key stakeholders in national security and space to engage industry partners on critical support and services. The addition of GovMilSpace to the SATELLITE Conference & Exhibition ensures that all aspects of the space industry are represented, offering attendees an unrivaled opportunity to explore the latest advancements and partnerships in both commercial and government sectors.
“SATELLITE 2025 is committed to driving progress and fostering purpose within the space industry,” said Jeffrey Hill, Chairman of SATELLITE 2025. “Our partnership with Defense Daily, whose expertise and penetration into the government and military market are unparalleled, combined with our deep knowledge of the satellite market, creates a unique environment in GovMilSpace that no other event can offer. We look forward to welcoming you to both the traditional SATELLITE Conference & Exhibition and the new GovMilSpace forum as we continue to lead the conversation in the ever-evolving space industry.”
GovMilSpace aims to revolutionize how public sector agencies, the armed forces, and commercial space organizations partner by highlighting the critical role of the satellite and space sector in supporting key missions for the United States and its global military allies. The event will feature 16 expertly curated sessions, a dedicated pavilion on the SATELLITE show floor, and exclusive networking events, all crafted to foster innovation and partnership at the highest levels.
“We’re at a historic turning point where national security hinges on the government’s capacity to harness private sector advancements to secure essential commercial space and satellite capabilities,” said John Robinson, Managing Editor of Defense Daily. “GovMilSpace, in partnership with SATELLITE, offers unmatched access to the satellite and space community, establishing a key platform for government and military leaders to exchange insights and develop strategies that bolster our collective security.”
GovMilSpace attendees will gain insights from industry leaders on a wide array of topics, including maintaining and accelerating global leadership in space, the future of milsatcom systems, services, and hardware, benefits and risks of AI, geospatial intelligence, and lunar missions, among others. The program is designed to inspire and inform, offering attendees the tools and connections needed to drive the future of space technology.

31 Jul 24. World Defense Show aims to expand global reach and innovation. The Saudi Arabia defence industry showcase will return in 2026 with promises of more innovation and technologies from around the world.
The World Defense Show (WDS), the rapidly growing defence exhibition held biannually in Saudi Arabia, has been positioning itself as a key platform for global defence companies to showcase their latest technologies, as well as providing access to the lucrative Saudi Arabia and broader Middle East markets.
In a recent interview with Shephard, Andrew Pearcey, CEO of WDS, discussed the show’s success and future plans. Pearcey highlighted that the 2024 edition of the show saw a significant number of product launches, which he declared to be a positive sign for the industry.
“The fact that we featured a lot of launches at the show [in 2024] is a sign the shows is in a good place and the industry is doing well,” he said.
Pearcey attributed the show’s appeal to Saudi Arabia’s position as a major defence market, as well as pointing to the country’s efforts to drive localisation and partnerships in the industry.
“For exhibitors, they want to do business in Saudi Arabia,” Pearcey remarked. “WDS is a gateway to the Saudi Arabian market and it brings with it the rest of the Middle East, so for people to launch products in the region, there’s probably no better place to do it.”
Looking ahead, Pearcey outlined plans to continue growing the show, including increasing exhibitor numbers, introducing new features and innovations, and improving the event’s logistics such as the flying display area. He also emphasised the show’s global reach, noting that it attracts a diverse range of countries and exhibitors, with the European presence, particularly from France and the UK, being a key focus.
Despite the current challenges facing the European defence industry, Pearcey remained optimistic about the show’s ability to attract and engage global players.
The 2026 event looks set to follow on from the success of the 2024 edition, in which participants came from more than 70 countries, with the WDS team citing the success of its growth plans for 2026 and floor space at the exhibition already 50% sold out.
“And expect even bigger and better things from us – all rooted in technology – in 2026,” Pearcey remarked.
As the World Defense Show prepares for its 2026 edition, the focus will be on continuing to drive innovation, expand its global reach and solidify its position as a leading platform for the defence industry in the Middle East and beyond. (Source: Shephard)
