EXHIBITIONS AND CONFERENCES

December 28, 2006 by

19 Dec 06. Global Security Asia 2007 – the Premier Show for Homeland Security. Global Security Asia 2007 (GSA 2007), the premier international exhibition and conference on Homeland Security, will again be held in Singapore from 27 to 29 March next year. The Organisers are pleased to announce that once again the Ministry of Home Affairs will host and fully support the Event. Professor S. Jayakumar, Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security, and Minister for Law, has very kindly agreed to be our Guest of Honour and will officially open the Exhibition and Conference. The Event, which consists of a Conference and Exhibition, was first launched in Singapore in 2005 and will again be held at the Singapore Expo. The Organisers are confident that due to the overwhelming success of the 2005 Event the Exhibition will double in size, and the number of National Pavilions will increase from two to nine. The new national pavilions being planned for, in addition to Korea and the UK, are Australia, Singapore, Italy, Germany, China, the US and Israel. The GSA 2007 Conference with the theme “Emerging Threats – New Technologies” will cover various aspects of global terrorism. It has attracted international experts from Government and industry who will address the ever-increasing challenges that confront Governments in their efforts to maintain national integrity and security for their people. Current and future technologies will be discussed and many of the systems and equipment will be showcased in the Exhibition.
Key speakers who have already confirmed their attendance at the Conference
include:
* Sir Richard Dearlove, former Chief of the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), UK, will address the subject of Law Enforcement, Security and Intelligence
* Colonel Frederic Gallois, Commander of GIGN (Groupe d’Intervention de la Gendarmerie Nationale), the French Gendarmerie’s elite counter-terrorism and hostage rescue unit, will speak on the subject of “From Munich to Beslan: the Evolution of Terrorist Hostage Crisis”
* Mr Ofder Dekel, Former Deputy Director of Israeli Internal Security, will speak on the topic of Terrorism
* Mr Hemant Shah, President and CEO of Risk Management Solutions, United States, will be a plenary speaker on the topic of Catastrophies and Risk Management

Invitations have already been issued to Ministers, relevant Agencies and key personnel in 55 Countries across the Asia Pacific Region and beyond. It is also planned that the exhibiting companies will have opportunities to meet delegation members to discuss with them their current and future national requirements.
In 2005, Global Security Asia has attracted over 44 VIP Delegations from 20 Countries, 188 International Participating Exhibitors from 18 Countries, 338 Conference Delegates from 24 Countries and 5321 Trade and Professional Visitors from 48 Countries.
