07 Sep 06. COMMEMORATIVE CEREMONY TO BE HELD AT NATO HQ ON MONDAY, 11 SEPTEMBER 2006. A tribute will be paid on Monday, 11 September 2006 to all victims of terrorist attacks at a commemorative ceremony which will take place at NATO Headquarters. Staff members of NATO Delegations, the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council missions, Mediterranean Dialogue countries, ICI countries, as well as the International Staff and the International Military Staff will attend the ceremony.

New BATTLESPACE Conferences for 2007!

ENABLING NETWORKS

BATTLESPACE is planning a 1 day Networking conference next year. This conference will explore the workings of Defence Networks and how to improve technology to enable the smooth and accurate distribution of data across the battlefield. We will soon be issuing a Call for Papers, but feel free to let us have your proposals now.

Any Papers not chosen for the Conference will be considered for publication in the special issue accompanying the conference.

BATTLESPACE is planning a 1 day Unmanned Ground Vehicle Conference UGV 07 to be held on the first day of DVD in June next year. We will soon be issuing a Call for Papers, but feel free to let us have your proposals now.

Conference Focus: C4ISR refers to systems that are part of the command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance domain. Using a complex system of systems referred to as C4ISR, the overall aim is for the US Army, US Air Force, US Marines and US Navy to communicate effectively on the battlefield amongst themselves and with coalition partners. C4ISR interoperability integrates warfighting capabilities at the tactical, organizational, and operational levels to create one lethal force and is a key initiative that emerged from infancy in the President’s initial Joint Force 2010 initiative. The 3rd Annual C4ISR Interoperability Conference will focus on interoperability across forces and coalition partners, the development of a standard architecture for communication and joint command and control processes. Attention will be paid to the pivotal role of converting legacy systems, the global information grid GIG and the significance of information assurance and security in providing the warfighter with essential bandwidth and secure communications.

• Sharing information on how C4ISR Inteeroperability continues to beuseful with emphasis on future plans
• In-depth analysis into needed technological requirements to improve the overall function of C4ISR
• Discussing the overall direction of C4ISR with specific reference to Information sharing and security

• Highlighting the significance of additional bandwidth to the success of the warfighter
