15 Nov 04. The 24th Army Science Conference (ASC) will be held at the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes, Orlando, Florida, November 29-December 2, 2004. The Army Science Conference is a biennial event inaugurated in 1957 to provide an ongoing forum for the presentation, discussion, and recognition of the latest developments in emerging technologies and their impact on the current and future Soldiers. This year’s theme is “Transformational Science and Technology for the Current and Future Force,” to highlight accelerated initiatives for the Future Force.
* Provide for an opportunity for the science and technology community to discuss the latest developments in emerging technologies and their impact on the Soldier of the future.
* To provide a forum for the cross fertilization and leveraging of ideas among the many scientific and engineering disciplines relevant to the Army’s missions.
* To publicly recognize the important technical achievements of scientists and engineers doing work relevant to the Army.
Conference Speakers:
* Deputy Secretary of Defense, Mr. Paul D. Wolfowitz; Army Vice Chief of Staff, GEN Richard A. Cody; the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology), the Honorable Claude M. Bolton; GEN Benjamin S. Griffin, Commanding General AMC; LTG John Curran, Director, Futures Center, TRADOC, and SGM Kenneth O. Preston, Sergeant Major of the Army.
* International perspectives will be provided by Mr. Mike Markin, OBE, United Kingdom Ministry of Defense, and Professor Lui, Singapore Defense Research Agency.
