09 Aug 12. Iran to take key ministries offline to avoid cyber attacks. Iran is to migrate key ministries and state bodies from the worldwide internet to a secure domestic intranet in an attempt to protect the networks from debilitating cyber attacks. The Daily Telegraph reported that Reza Taghipour, the country’s telecommunications minister, told a conference at the Amir Kabir University in Tehran on 5 August that the internet was controlled by “one or two countries that are hostile to Iran” and that “the establishment of the national intelligence network will create a situation where the precious intelligence of the country won’t be accessible to these powers.” (Source: Jane’s, JDW)

CACI International Inc has been selected as one of six prime contractors to support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Information Directorate in rapidly fielding mission-critical cybersecurity solutions on the Agile Cyber Technology (ACT) contract. With an anticipated ceiling value of $300m, this five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract represents new work for CACI and further expands the company’s cyberspace solutions capability.
