This contract comes on top of a recent success announced on Dec. 11th, when CSC announced today that it had received a task order from the Naval Sea Systems Command to provide professional services to the Program Executive Office Aircraft Carriers (PEO Carriers). CSC estimates the value of the task order, which has a two-year base period, three one-year option periods and seven one-year award term periods, to be approximately $55m if all options and award terms are exercised.

Comment: When BATTLESPACE visited CSC’s new UK HQ in Aldershot, the size and complexity of the facility was a sight to see. Virtually unknown in the U.K. apart from its BAE connection, CSC is becoming a more visible company by the day, with the help of Simon Elliott’s Hatch Group team. The company was recently shortlisted for the UK’s DII requirement when some observers saw a possible shoot-out between incumbent EDS and IBM as a possibility (not forgetting Lockheed Martin!). Now that IBM has lost out is the shoot out between the ‘new boy on the block’ and EDS? Certainly CSC’s huge U.S. involvement in DoD and Government contracts will not have been lost to the MoD.
