17 Sep 18. The UK Ministry of Defence has extended its containerised deployable systems support contract, Project Amphora, with Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group for a further three years. For the last four years Marshall, along with its partner G3 Systems, has been tasked with refurbishing and re-engineering a range of shelters, ensuring that the deployable shelter systems are fully supported to demanding operational levels while extending the equipment’s useful life.
17 Sep 18. Rheinmetall modernizes British logistic vehicles fleet – supply of 382 EPLS retrofit kits. Rheinmetall, through its joint venture Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV), is supporting the programme to modernize part of the British military’s fleet of logistic vehicles with a new loading system. A total of 382 retrofit kits for the Enhanced Pallet Loading System, or EPLS, will be supplied and integrated into the tried-and-tested HX trucks of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces. Booked in the first half of 2018, the RMMV contract is worth over €43m. Shipping and retrofitting are to be completed by the end of January 2021.

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS (KDA), Kongsberg, Norway, was awarded a $498,289,506 firm-fixed-price contract for continued production, sustainment and engineering services for the M153 Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station. One bid was solicited via the internet with one bid received. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 13, 2022. 18 Sep 18. The US Air Force (USAF) has awarded an $85.1m Block 2 delivery order to iGov Technologies for the tactical air control party mobile communications system (TACP-MCS). Awarded by the USAF Life Cycle Management Center, the current order is placed under the $538m multi-award indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity Platform Engineering and Integration for Tactical and Strategic Systems contract. Selected on a competitively solicited basis, iGov has secured the second major TACP-MCS delivery order, the first being the $52.5m Block 1 contract that was awarded to the company in January 2016. Under the TACP-MCS Block 2 contract, the company will be responsible for upgrading the armoured variant of the M1165 high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle used by Air Force Tactical Air Control Party operators. In addition, iGov will integrate and supply modernised, robust voice, data and video communication capabilities required by the Joint Terminal Attack Controllers. (Source: airforce-technology.com)

17 Sep 18. Thai armed forces order Cobra UGV. ECA Group has received a new contract to supply several units of its Cobra MK2 E UGV to the Thai armed forces. The company will execute the contract in cooperation with its Thailand partner Apple Scientific. The Cobra MK2 E is a 5kg UGV designed and developed especially for explosive ordnance disposal (EOD)/improvised explosive device (IED) operations. Its modular architecture and plug-and-play systems enable it be be equipped with different payloads for EOD/IED detection and neutralisation, as well as with various water disruptors or customer-specific payloads. The system comes with an ultra-light operator control unit for dismounted operations. ECA Group delivered two units of the Cobra MK2 E in the first half of 2018. (Source: Shephard)
