13 Feb 18. Inzpire Limited have been sub-contracted by Lockheed Martin UK to provide aircrew instruction and technical support for the duration of a contract which will see Lockheed Martin UK provide a new simulator training facility at RAF Odiham. Inzpire have also partnered with Operational Solutions Limited, who will provide technical maintenance support to the facility. Inzpire were selected for the instructional responsibility at the facility due to their experience in providing live flying training to both the UK Joint Helicopter Command Apache and Wildcat fleets as well as their unparalleled history in providing the synthetic training at the Air Battlespace Training Centre at RAF Waddington. The new simulator facility will be the first Support Helicopter synthetic system capable of providing full crew training for pilots and crewmen in individual or multi-aircraft tactical scenarios. Inzpire will use the highest quality personnel with contemporary operational experience to enhance the immersive training experience of military aircrew.

14 Feb 18. Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE: NOC) U.K.-based air traffic management (ATM) subsidiary, Park Air Systems, earlier this year was awarded a contract by the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) to supply Golubovci Airbase in Podgorica, Montenegro, with a new communication system. The Park Air M7 VHF/UHF radio, brings high levels of performance, resilience and flexibility into a compact unit for defence applications. A range of receivers and transceivers are available, each covering the full VHF/UHF frequency range with AM and FM waveforms for fixed, naval and transportable applications. Electronic protection measures are available including NATO and non-NATO waveforms, while wideband interfaces support a range of crypto devices and tactical data links. The system functionality is combined into a single compact package which is designed to be easy to operate and maintain. The system will support Montenegro Armed Forces and meet all NATO standards.
12 Feb 18. The Latvian MOD signed a contract in the amount of 108m Euros, with EuroSpike GmbH, for production and delivery of a variety of Spike Family Missiles. The Spike Family consists of 4th and 5th generation electro-optical missile systems, providing high precision and high lethality against various targets, including advanced MBTs. The SPIKE system was developed by Israeli company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd., which is also involved in the deal as a subcontractor through EuroSpike with Diehl Defense GmbH & Co. KG and Rheinmetall Defence Electronics GmbH. SPIKE is in operational use in over 29 countries, including many NATO countries. Over 29,000 missiles have been supplied. Approximately 5,000 SPIKE missiles have been fired in combat and in training. SPIKE has been integrated on more than 40 platforms, aerial, vehicular and naval, including from modern remote-controlled weapon stations. Each year, the “SPIKE Users Club” is convened in a different country in an event organized by NATO/NSPA, to give SPIKE users the opportunity to share their SPIKE experience and hear about new SPIKE developments.
