07 Nov 17. OnTime Networks has announced that it has received a contract from a leading international systems integrator in France to supply its rugged military grade CM-6900 1U height 19″ rack mountable Gigabit/10Gigabit Ethernet switch series for a military radar project.
The series is specifically designed to provide reliable, high-performance connectivity for extremely demanding size, weight and power constraints in harsh demanding environments such as at high altitude, extreme shock & vibration, extended temperatures, humidity, noisy EMI, and ‘dirty’ power quality. 07 Nov 17. Deep BV takes delivery of Sonardyne Mini-Ranger 2 positioning equipment to support UXO surveys. Deep BV, a Dutch survey company specialising in hydrography, marine geophysics and oceanography, has purchased underwater acoustic technology supplied by Sonardyne International, UK, to support its inshore, harbour, coastal and offshore activities. The two Mini-Ranger 2 Ultra-Short BaseLine (USBL) tracking systems and WSM 6+ mini transponders were delivered to Deep BV’s headquarters in Amsterdam within days of the order being placed and put straight to work during an operation to search for unexploded ordnance (UXO). Mini-Ranger 2 boasts a number of features that makes it ideal for underwater operations such as UXO surveys which require high accuracy positioning but without the cost and complexity associated with a deep water USBL solution. It can simultaneously track 10 targets at very fast update rates, it is quick to install on small vessels and has a tracking range of 995 metres, extendable to 4,000 metres.

General Dynamics Mission Systems, Pittsfield, Massachusetts, is being awarded a $25,780,235 cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for sustainment of the U.S. and United Kingdom SSBN Fire Control System, the U.S. SSGN Attack Weapon Control System, including training and support equipment and research and development. The work will be performed in Pittsfield, Massachusetts (97.5 percent); Bremerton, Washington (0.9 percent); Kings Bay, Georgina (0.8 percent); and Cape Canaveral, Florida (0.8 percent), with an expected completion date of December 2020. Fiscal 2017 research, development, test, and evaluation funds in the amount of $976,000; fiscal 2018 other procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $22,710,235; fiscal 2018 research, development, test, and evaluation funds in the amount of $959,000; and United Kingdom funds in the amount of $1,135,000 are being obligated on this award. Funds in the amount of $976,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was a sole-source acquisition pursuant to 10 U.S. Code 2304(c)(1)&(4). Strategic Systems Programs, Washington, District of Columbia, is the contracting activity (N00030-18-C-0005).

General Atomics – Electromagnetic Systems Group, San Diego, California, is being awarded an $8,883,385 competitive cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the Low Power Laser Demonstrator (LPLD) Phase 1 effort. No options are contemplated. Under this new contract, the contractor will perform the next step for the LPLD effort that addresses laser power and aperture size by integrating and testing a low power laser on an unmanned aerial vehicle. The work will be performed in San Diego, California; and Poway, California, with an estimated completion date of July 31, 2018. The period of performance is nine months from Nov. 1, 2017, through July 31, 2018. This contract was competitively procured via publication on the Federal Business Opportunities website through Advanced Technology Innovation Broad Agency Announcement HQ0147-15-ATI-BAA. Fiscal 2017 research, development, test and engineering funds in the amount of $2,000,000 are being obligated at the time of award.
