25 Jul 17. TEK Military Seating awarded Human Transport Module (HTM) contract for the Royal Netherlands Marines. The Royal Netherlands marines have replaced its aging fleet of logistic vehicles, which are based in the Caribbean, with a new fleet of Iveco Eurocargo 4×4 trucks, with many having the ProTEK® HTM Roll Over Protection System (ROPS) units fitted. The integration of the fleet has been carried out by VDL Defence Technologies in Eindhoven, with the fleet featuring a new composite flatbed to which the ROPS units are fitted. Working closely with VDL Defence Technologies, TEK has manufactured a 12 seat solution per vehicle, divided into two six seat units for ease of fitting and removal. Each unit features ProTEK® Light crew seats and conform to European roll over protection standards. Whilst these units follow current production models, modifications had to be made to ensure that the extreme humidity would not affect the frames, so each frame was zinc and nylon coated and additional features included to ensure occupant safety was not compromised. ProTEK® Light seats feature our Coyote brown military fabric designed for extreme environments and is fully rot proofed. On show at DSEI 2017 will be the newly developed ProTEK® Modular HTM (ROPS) system, featuring two seat modular units which can be bolted together to offer increased flexibility for users.
