20 Jun 17. The Spanish Defence Ministry (Ministerio de Defensa) has selected the AUDS counter-UAV system to protect critical assets and personnel from the growing threat posed by malicious unmanned aircraft systems or drones. The contract, awarded through Blighter’s representative .in Spain CIAC, is estimated to be worth around €2m. The AUDS detect-track-identify-defeat counter-drone system was developed in 2015 by a consortium of UK defence companies including Blighter Surveillance Systems, Chess Dynamics and Enterprise Control Systems.

21 Jun 17. General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) has been awarded a supply contract for the Danish Army’s new 4×4 Armored Patrol Vehicle program (APV). After a competitive tendering process, including an intensive comparative vehicle trial, the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistic Organization (DALO) has selected GDELS-Mowag’s EAGLE 4×4 vehicle platform. The initial batch consists of 36 vehicles in the Patrol configuration with first deliveries in 2018. The contract has options for further variants including Electronic Warfare, Support and Reconnaissance. The vehicles will complement the Danish Army’s existing EAGLE vehicle fleet.

22 Jun 17. Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Connecticut, is being awarded a $203,073,701 cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to increase the design support requirements under a previously awarded contract (N00024-13-C-2128) for Columbia-class submarines (formerly known as the Ohio Replacement). This is a joint Navy/United Kingdom (UK) Common Missile Compartment program. Work will be performed in Groton, Connecticut (91 percent); Newport News, Virginia (7 percent); Quonset, Rhode Island (1 percent); and Bath, Maine (1 percent), and is expected to be completed by October 2017. Fiscal 2017 shipbuilding and conversion (Navy); UK foreign military sales; and 2017 research, development, test, and evaluation (Navy) funds in the amount of $203,073,701 will be obligated at the time of award and contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. 21 Jun 17. Esterline to Supply Avionics Systems for German Armed Forces’ CH-53GS/GE Retrofit Program. Esterline Corporation, a leading global specialty manufacturer primarily serving the aerospace and defense markets, is pleased to announce the award of a contract from Airbus Helicopters to supply its CMC Electronics brand Integrated Helicopter Solution for the upgrade of the German Armed Forces’ CH-53GS/GE Sea Stallion helicopters. The upgrade features the Esterline CMC Electronics CMA-9000 Flight Management System and the Esterline MFD-3068 Smart Multi-Function Display which will address obsolescence and enhance the CH-53GS/GE’s capabilities by providing a flexible, modernized cockpit with improved civil navigation. 21 Jun 17. GKN’s Fokker business and Boeing Business Jets have today signed a contract for the design and completion of the interior of a new Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) for the Dutch government. The aircraft will be used to transport government officials and the Dutch Royal family. The 737BBJ is the successor to the Fokker 70 PH-KBX of the Dutch government that has been in service for more than 20 years. Under the contract, which was signed at the Paris Air Show, Fokker Techniek in Woensdrecht will design and complete the aircraft’s interior. The 737 Boeing Business Jet will be configured for 24 passengers, split into two cabins (12 VIP, 12 staff) and include a crew rest area and bathroom. The interior will include the latest SatCom technologies. Boeing and Fokker Techniek have closely collaborated on the offer for the delivery of the new Government aircraft.
