25 May 17. Iveco Defence Vehicles (DV), the specialty vehicles business of CNH Industrial (NYSE: CNHI /MI: CNHI), has signed a delivery order with the Swiss Armed Forces, represented by armasuisse (Federal Office for Defence Procurement), for 400 trucks to be supplied between
2017 and 2021. The agreement was signed at the powertrain R&D center belonging to Iveco Defence Vehicles’ CNH Industrial sister brand FPT Industrial in Arbon, Switzerland on May 2, 2017. This initial delivery order forms part of a frame contract for a new fleet consisting of special trucks to be delivered from 2016 through to 2022. The frame contract was awarded to Iveco DV in November 2015, following two years of thorough market evaluation and comprehensive practical trials with several demonstrator chassis. This is the third frame contract between the two parties, following previous agreements in 1996 and 2006. It confirms a long established and trusted cooperation between Iveco DV and the Swiss Armed Forces, enhancing the brand’s position as a key industry supplier.

UK-based naval design and systems engineering group BMT Defence Services has been contracted by the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA) to provide consultancy support for Norway’s Project 6346 new Norwegian submarine capability acquisition programme.
Under the terms of the framework agreement, won in international competition, the company will be available to conduct standalone tasks or provide resources to address any shortfalls in capacity, capability, or confidence within the organisations of key project stakeholders. 24 May 17. Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems, Mitchel Field, New York, is being awarded a $79,884,066 cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide technical and program management support services associated with the Trident II (D5) Shipboard Systems Integration (SSI) Increments four and eight for the navigation subsystem. This contract will provide the required navigation hardware and software design, testing, installation, and deliverables for the SSI Increments Fleet support services for the current fleet ballistic missile strategic weapon system; U. S. and U.K. inertial navigation system and gyro modification and repair associated efforts; and development efforts for the modernization program of SSI program including U.S. and U.K. trainer maintenance and development. Work will be performed in Mitchel Field, New York (76 percent); Oldsmar, Florida (14 percent); and Manassas, Virginia (10 percent), with an expected completion date of Dec. 31, 2018. The maximum value of this contract, including the base year and one-year option, if exercised, is $87,282,307. Fiscal 2017 other procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $71,704,126; U.K. funds in the amount of $6,504,511; and fiscal 2017 research, development, technology, and evaluation funds in the amount of $1,675,429 are being obligated on this award. No funds will expire at the end of the fiscal year. This contract was a sole-source acquisition pursuant to 10 U.S.Code 2304(c)(1)&(4).
