17 May 17. Elbit Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ:ESLT and TASE: ESLT) (“Elbit Systems”) announced today that its U.S. subsidiary, Elbit Systems of America LLC., was awarded an approximately $166m contract from a prime contractor to provide operator interface and computer processing capabilities for a U.S. Army platform. The contract will be performed primarily in Fort Worth, Texas, over a five-year period.

17 May 17. L-3 Communications Corp., Londonderry, New Hampshire, has been awarded a maximum $17,879,432 firm-fixed-price, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for multifunction lasers. This is a three-year contract with no option periods. This was a sole-source acquisition using justification 10 U.S. Code 2304 (c)(1). Location of performance is New Hampshire, with a May 14, 2020, performance completion date. Using military service is Army. Type of appropriation is fiscal 2017 through 2020 Army working capital funds. The contracting activity is the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime, Warren, Michigan (SPRDL1-17-D-0062).

18 May 17. Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, Grand Prairie, Texas, was awarded a $112,200,000 contract ceiling increase modification (P00031) to previously-awarded, cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus fixed-fee, firm-fixed–price, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, HQ0147-10-D-0001, for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense field support contract (TFSC) system support with a ceiling amount of $449,000,000. This modification will increase the total ceiling value by $112,200,000, from $449,000,000 to $561,200,000. The contractor will continue to perform the same scope of the TFSC which includes: logistics performance requirements, forward stationing for theater support, logistics information capabilities, post deployment software support, product assurance, safety, missile support, security and engineering services. No task orders are being issued at this time. The work will be performed in Huntsville, Alabama; Sunnyvale, California; Grand Prairie, Texas; and Troy, Alabama. The ordering period remains from March 25, 2010 through March 31, 2019. This contract was awarded on a sole-source authority pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation 6302-1, “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.” No additional funds are being obligated by this modification. Fiscal 2017, 2018 and 2019, operations maintenance and procurement funds will be obligated with execution of future task orders. The Missile Defense Agency, Huntsville, Alabama, is the contracting activity (HQ0147-10-D-0001).

15 May 17. Orbital ATK (NYSE: OA), a global leader in aerospace and defense technologies, announced today that the company has received contracts valued at $53m to produce large caliber training ammunition for the U.S. Army. The orders include both 120mm and 105mm ammunition types. The 120mm training ammunition, used by the Abrams main battle tank, includes the M865 kinetic energy and the M1002 multi-purpose tank training rounds. The 105mm M724A2 is used for crew training on the Stryker Mobile Gun System vehicles. These training rounds closely replicate tactical ammunition in appearance and ballistic performance to provide the warfighter with an affordable, yet realistic training experience. 16 May 17. The US Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded a new indefinite-quantity/indefinite-delivery (IQID) contract to Canadian company Thornhill Research for the delivery of Field Anesthesia Systems to the US Marine Corps (USMC). The new arrangement will see Thornhill Research provide Field Anesthesia Systems to administer general anaesthesia to patients in need of emergency medical procedures in a field environment.
