TACOM has awarded General Dynamics Land Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics a $74m delivery order as part of a $315 million contract for support of the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT). This contract calls for contractor logistics support, equipment and spare parts necessary to maintain the Brigade Combat Team’s operational readiness.
14 June 04. EDO Corp. received a $9m subcontract from the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Office of Foreign Disaster Support, or OFDA, the company said Monday. Under the two-year deal, EDO will provide OFDA with information technology and communications support, project and financial management support, facility and inventory management, as well as training, the company said. EDO will provide the services at OFDA’s Washington, D.C., office and at worldwide locations where OFDA provides humanitarian assistance in response to international crises and disasters.
10 Jun 04. Thales UK‘s missile electronics business has signed a £7.3m contract with Raytheon Missile Systems, Tucson Arizona USA, to supply the Target Detection Device (TDD) for the TOW2B Anti Armour Missile System. Under this contract Thales will re-qualify the production line and produce over 2000 TDDs for the US Department of Defence.
Jun 04. The Jordan Armed Forces has placed an initial order for the Al-Thalab (Fox) Long Range Patrol Vehicle (LRPV), developed by UK company Jankel Armouring in association with the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB). The two companies have recently established the Jordan Light Vehicle Manufacturing (JLVM) company at Dulayl, near Amman, to manufacture soft-skinned and protected vehicles, of which the Al Thalab is to be one. IDR understands the initial batch numbers well in excess of 20 vehicles, and that the first will be delivered in early 2005. (Source: Jane’s)

EDO-Darlington, Incorporated, Wando, S.C., is being awarded a $240,000,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, firm-fixed-price/time and material maximum contract for procurement of up to 476 transition switch modules. Transition switch modules provide a flexible unit level switch capability to transition between legacy tri-service tactical switches and current commercial technology providing three major functions – the DEOS, the RSA, and the DITS. The contract includes testing, associated training, training devices, spares, contractor interim support services, field service representatives, engineering/logistics services, and provisioning technical documentation. Work will be performed in Wando, S.C., and is expected to be completed September 2011. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the Federal Business Opportunity website and the Marine Corps Systems Command’s website, with three offers received. Data Link Solutions, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is being awarded a $48,304,391 firm fixed price delivery order for Multifunctional Information Distribution System-Low Volume Terminals (MIDS-LVTs). The MIDS-LVT provides secure, high capacity, jam resistant, digital data and voice communications capability for Navy, Air Force and Army platforms. This delivery order combines purchases for the U.S. (76 percent) and the governments of Switzerland (4.8 percent), Belgium (4.5 percent), Taiwan (1 percent), and Poland (13.7 percent) under the Foreign Military Sales Program. Work will be performed in Wayne, N.J. (50 percent), and Cedar Rapids, Iowa (50 percent), and is expected to be completed by May 2006.
