20 Jun 16. Accuracy International have been awarded the
contract for Long Range Precision Rifles with the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) for a military precision rifle for the Danish Defence, with their AX50 bolt action
rifle. The updated AX50 rifle is a user configurable, mission adaptable, all weather, day/night capable sniper rifle offered in 12.7mm/.50BMG.

21 Jun 16. Airbus Defence and Space has placed an order for the development and provision of a Full Flight Simulator (FFS) to support the training of crews on the A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport. The contract, signed with Indra of Spain, covers the installation at the Airbus Defence and Space International Training Centre in Seville of a Level D FFS, which is certified to qualify pilots on the A330 MRTT with zero flight time in the real aircraft. In addition to providing pilot flight-training, the new FFS, which will enter service in the second quarter of 2018, will permit the training of pilots in hose-and-drogue refuelling operations, and to act as a receiver from other tankers. The company decided to invest in the new capability in order to ensure that a robust training capability is available to meet the needs of the rapidly growing global fleet of A330 MRTTs. Already 27 aircraft have been delivered to four nations out of 49 on firm order, and the type has been selected by a number of other nations.

BAE Systems, Land & Armaments, York, Pennsylvania, is being awarded an $10,862,557 firm-fixed-price contract to provide the necessary material and technical engineering to build, integrate, test, and deliver one assault amphibious vehicle, command vehicle 7A1 (AAVC7A1); and one assault amphibious vehicle, recovery vehicle 7A1 (AAVR7A1). This effort includes all weapons, support and test equipment, spares, publications, training, engineering services, logistics, and other technical support required under Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case JA-P-SCD (end user: government of Japan). This contract contains options, which if exercised, would bring the contract value to $11,066,919. Work will be performed in Anniston, Alabama, and is expected to be completed by June 2019. FMS revolving funds in the amount of $10,862,557 will be obligated at time of award and do not have an expiration date. This contract was solicited as a sole-source award in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-4 per the country’s official written direction. The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Virginia, is the contracting activity (M67854-16-C-0002).

21 Jun 16. The U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) has awarded BAE Systems a five-year contract worth as much as $75m to provide enhanced geospatial intelligence technical and analytical support. The award was issued under the INSCOM Global Intelligence indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract. BAE Systems will assist in the exploitation and processing of geospatial data and develop various intelligence products for INSCOM’s Military Intelligence Brigade – Theatre Integrated GEOINT Divisions. The company’s team of specialists will also assist the Army with its next-generation geospatial intelligence developmental and experimental intelligence collection systems and technologies. 21 Jun 16. BAE Systems Information and Electronics, Merrimack, New Hampshire, has been awarded a $13,359,684 modification (P00025) to exercise an option on previously awarded contract HR0011-13-C-0029 for the Adaptive Radar Countermeasures program. The modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $35,530,694. Work will be performed in Nashua, New Hampshire (80 percent); and Burlington, Massachusetts (20 percent), with an expected completion date of June 2018.
