Esterline Corporation’s Codis high-performance visualization products have been selected by General Dynamics UK for the armored SCOUT Specialist Vehicle (SV) program, for a total contract value of $21m over seven years. 08 Sep 15. The Netherlands Ministry of Defense is adding Raytheon Company’s (NYSE: RTN) Excalibur Ib artillery rounds to its arsenal under a previously announced foreign military sales agreement, underscoring growing international interest in the precision-guided projectile. The Netherlands is the second Excalibur lb customer in Europe after Sweden, the U.S. government’s development partner for the 155 mm round. Deliveries are expected to begin later this year. The U.S. Army has determined Excalibur Ib is fully compatible with the PzH 2000, a self-propelled howitzer produced in Germany and fielded by several nations.

10 Sep 15. Indra to deliver submarine satellite communications systems to Germany’s TKMS. Spanish electronics firm Indra has secured an order to supply German shipbuilder ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) with new satellite communications systems for submarines. Under the contract, Indra will deliver KU band systems based on a three-axis stabilised platform. The company has already completed the design of systems to be installed in the submarines. Indra’s solution will offer fast and secure communications in addition to the increased data transmission capacity. It will also help reduce the time when antennas are exposed to radar detection by ships and aircraft. (Source: naval-technology.com)

06 Sep 15. Elbit Systems Ltd. was awarded a contract from a European country to supply an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS)-based cutting-edge intelligence solution. Valued at approximately $78m, the contract will be performed over a two-year period by Elbit Systems’ ISTAR Division, established several months ago, as a result of combining Elbit Systems’ Electro-optics – Elop and UAS Divisions. Elbit Systems’ solution will consist, among other elements, of AMPS (Advanced Multi-Sensor Payload System) – a multi-sensor electro-optics system capable of long-range visual intelligence for both day and night. The system is adaptable for a large variety of airborne applications and serves as an important building block for the integrated intelligence solution.

AM General LLC, South Bend, Indiana, was awarded a $428,295,155 firm-fixed-price, multi-year, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for M997A3-configured high mobility multi-wheeled ambulance chassis vehicles for domestic disaster relief efforts by the Army, Army Reserve and Army National Guard. Funding and work location will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 4, 2021. Bids were solicited via the Internet with one received. Army Contracting Command, Warren, Michigan, is the contracting activity (W56HZV-15-D-0102).

10 Sep 15. Nammo Talley Inc., Mesa, Arizona, was awarded a $97,200,000 firm-fixed-price contract for production and delivery of Shoulder-Launched Multipurpose Assault Weapon rounds consisting of the 83mm high-explosive dual-purpose round (HX05), the 83mm common practice round (HX07), and 83mm novel explosive round (HA34), with respective inert cut-aways. Funding and work location will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 10, 2020. Bids were solicited via the Internet
