29 Jul 14. Elektrobit received a purchase order from the Finnish Defence Forces for EB Tactical Wireless IP Network (TAC WIN) system products. The Finnish Defence Forces have also issued a purchase option, which enables further purchases of the same products. The purchase order and the purchase option are continuation of the delivery contract signed between EB and the Finnish Defence Forces in September 2011 and related product deliveries that began in December 2012. In accordance with the contract EB is developing the Tactical Wireless IP Network for the Finnish Defence Forces and delivers software defined radios that are the basis for the EB TAC WIN system.

31 Jul 14. HDS and ATK sign ammo contracts. Hellenic Defence Systems (HDS) signed a series of contracts with ATK on 30 July to provide HDS with production support as the company restructures. The first contract with ATK concerns the co-production of 94,670 30 mm combat rounds and 14,450 30 mm training rounds for the Greek Army Aviation’s 29 Boeing AH-64 Apache attack helicopters’ M230 Chain Gun, valued at EUR12.7m (USD17m). A second five-year framework supply contract for 40/L60 Bofors gun rounds was also confirmed for the US Air Force’s AC-130 gunships, with a value of USD65m for HDS. Among other agreements signed include: the development of international markets for 20 mm and 30 mm cannon rounds; the export to the US of the HDS-developed 40×53 mm grenade round; production of parts for ATK weapon systems; and the certification of HDS as a secondary global supplier of 30×173 mm cannon rounds. 30 Jul 14. TVS Supply Chain Solutions has won a major contract with the Defence Support Group (DSG) to support the Ministry of Defence (MOD) with spare parts for vehicles used by the UK’s Armed Forces. The new contract, which was won after a competitive tender, is worth £36m over four years and provides spare parts for Land Rover vehicles used for front line commands and repair workshops. The tender was conducted on behalf of MOD by DSG’s Land Supply Business Unit in conjunction with the Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) organisation. The contract is split into four areas; safety critical parts sourced from a Land Rover approved supplier; OEM parts obtained from suppliers other than Land Rover approved sources; supply to DSG workshops and supply to the British Forces South Atlantic Islands. TVS has a growing relationship with DSG, currently managing a number of contracts including the provision of heavy armour spares, field kitchen and general support consumable spare parts. The company has a dedicated Defence facility in Bicester, which manages over £10m of inventory, covering a range of 130,000 NATO Stock Numbers.
